About SemiAnalysis
SemiAnalysis is an independent research firm focused on semiconductors and AI. We combine technical research, financial analysis, and industry expertise to help investors and technology companies understand these industries and make informed decisions.

Position Overview
With an estimated $11 trillion of cumulative AI CapEx through 2029 requiring roughly $7 trillion of debt financing, SemiAnalysis is building its Capital & Markets team to answer critical questions about how this investment will be funded. Our mission is to forecast capital needs across neoclouds, hyperscalers, and AI labs; explain how financing structures must evolve to serve those needs, including shorter-duration demand from AI-native companies; and maintain a comprehensive database of funding, offtake, backstop, guarantee, credit enhancement, and off-balance-sheet arrangements that makes interconnected exposures clear.
We are hiring two junior analysts, one in New York and one in Singapore, to build financial models, research companies, maintain financing and exposure data, and support GPU rental and token pricing benchmarks. Both analysts will contribute to the same analytical work, coordinating assignments and handoffs across time zones within a team centered in New York.
We welcome recent graduates and candidates with up to three years of experience. Investment banking or sales and trading experience is preferred, including internships. Strong financial modeling skills are essential; prior specialization in credit, semiconductors, or AI is not required.

Key Responsibilities

  • Build and update financial models, including cash-flow forecasts and scenario analyses.

  • Gather and analyze company financial statements, debt information, and relevant market data.

  • Support analysis of business performance, liquidity, financing needs, and debt repayment capacity.

  • Check calculations, reconcile information across sources, and document model assumptions.

  • Prepare concise summaries, presentation materials, and supporting analysis for lender discussions.

  • Coordinate assignments across New York and Singapore, keeping colleagues informed of findings, outstanding questions, and next steps.

Requirements

  • 0–3 years of relevant experience, preferably in investment banking or sales and trading. Relevant internships are welcome, and prior full-time experience is not required.

  • Demonstrated ability to build financial models in Excel and explain the calculations and assumptions.

  • A solid understanding of financial statements and how they connect.

  • Strong attention to detail, including the ability to identify and investigate errors or inconsistent information.

  • Clear written and verbal communication, particularly when explaining findings and handing work over to colleagues.

  • A strong work ethic, reliable follow-through, and the ability to manage deadlines, ask focused questions, and apply feedback.

  • No specific industry background, East Asian capital markets expertise, or existing lender relationships are required.
