Job Description

As Label Manager, you will own and grow a portfolio of label and artist partners within Believe’s US Label & Artist Solutions business. Serving as the primary day-to-day contact, you will drive release strategy, optimize campaign performance, and ensure partners fully leverage Believe’s global infrastructure to maximize revenue and visibility across DSPs.

This role combines strategic partnership management, operational execution, and commercial accountability. You will play a critical role in partner retention, revenue expansion, and overall portfolio health.

Key Responsibilities

Portfolio Ownership & Revenue Growth

  • Own and manage a portfolio of label and artist partners

  • Develop release strategies aligned with partner goals and DSP best practices

  • Identify revenue growth opportunities across catalog optimization, marketing initiatives, and service expansion

  • Deliver structured business reviews and performance insights to partners

  • Maintain high retention across priority partners and lead renewal discussions in coordination with Sales and leadership

Release & Campaign Execution

  • Oversee release planning and campaign timelines across frontline and catalog projects

  • Liaise with Editorial and Marketing Partnerships teams to maximize DSP visibility and impact

  • Monitor streaming performance and implement data-informed optimization strategies

  • Partner with Operations to ensure delivery accuracy and operational excellence

  • Translate streaming data and campaign performance into optimization actions throughout the lifecycle of a release

Partner Strategy & Retention

  • Act as the primary escalation point for assigned partners

  • Identify renewal and long-term growth opportunities within the portfolio

  • Build strong, trusted relationships across label leadership and artist teams

  • Utilize Believe’s suite of backend tools to analyze partner streaming analytics, financial data, and marketing insights

Risk Mitigation & Governance

  • Educate partners on fraud streaming, copyright policies, rights processes, and platform compliance expectations

  • Proactively address risky behaviors within the portfolio and drive corrective action plans

  • When escalated, lead resolution of high-risk issues in coordination with central and operational teams

  • Ensure partners are increasingly autonomous and compliant in their use of Believe’s tools and processes

Market Intelligence

  • Track genre trends, DSP shifts, and competitive activity

  • Provide feedback to internal stakeholders to inform broader US strategy

  • Represent Believe at relevant industry events and conferences when appropriate

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Partner with Central HQ in Paris, Label Management, Operations, Finance, and Product to ensure smooth onboarding and partner satisfaction

  • Support retention and upsell strategies within the existing portfolio

  • Align internal stakeholders around portfolio priorities and key releases

  • Support cross-functional initiatives that improve client performance, internal efficiency, or service differentiation

Qualifications

  • 5 - 6 years of experience in music distribution, label services, music tech platforms, or independent label environments

  • Demonstrated success managing release campaigns and partner portfolios tied to revenue outcomes

  • Strong understanding of streaming economics, DSP ecosystems, and digital marketing levers

  • Data-driven mindset with practical experience using music analytics tools

  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills

  • Highly organized and able to manage multiple releases and timelines simultaneously

  • Commercially aware with a strong understanding of partnership dynamics
     

Nice to Have

  • Experience handling catalog transfers and renewal cycles

  • Familiarity with metadata systems and DSP pitching processes

  • Strong understanding of DSP best practices and content optimization

  • Relationships within the independent music ecosystem

  • Experience using third party CRMs (Salesforce preferred)

Additional Information

Believe is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices. The base salary range for this position is $86,400-129,600. The final salary offer will be determined by a variety of factors, including the candidate’s relevant experience, specialized skills, internal equity, and specific work location. This range represents our good faith estimate at the time of posting.

Where you'll be 

This role will be based out of our New York or Nashville office. Believe operates on a hybrid model giving our teams flexibility and choice in how they work. Employees have the option to work from our office 8 days per month on a flexible schedule organized at the department level.
