Position Summary
The Lead Advisor Development Manager is responsible for the development, administration, and execution of various learning experiences for Focus advisor associates. Educating advisors involves evaluating and advancing specific skills and knowledge across the core areas of the Client & Advisor Experience, Wealth Technology Platforms, and Practice Management skills. The Lead Advisor Development Manager will work closely with the Advisory Leadership Team to identify key learning needs of Advisors and deliver learning resources intended to meet those needs. It is the goal of the Advisor Development Team to provide all Focus Advisors with the resources required to continuously grow as professional and deliver an exceptional Client Experience.
This role is intended for someone who has an advisory or financial planning background, and is willing to lend their hand and help other advisors succeed. This individual must be detail-oriented, service-minded, and willing to adapt in a fast-changing environment.
This position is open to any of our office locations in the United States. Focus provides team members the flexibility to work a hybrid schedule. Our hybrid model is defined as 3 days in office work required per week, while giving team members the option to work remotely 2 day per week, or as assigned by their team leader.
Primary Responsibilities
- Collaborate superbly with Advisory Leadership and colleagues across the firm to understand and identify core learning needs of the Advisor community
- Update and audit training programs and supporting materials as needed/assigned, so that changes in policies and procedures are accurately reflected and programs remain highly relevant and engaging
- Review their own work for accuracy using a keen eye for details to ensure quality and adherence to all necessary compliance and design standards
- Track the engagement, success and relevance of materials and programs, making improvements and adjustments as needed
- Willingness to facilitate weekly learning sessions for new-to-firm and new-to-role advisors in the community
- Build relationships with internal subject matter experts and coordinate live-based and on-demand learning opportunities
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree
- 5+ years’ experience in Financial Services or related profession.
- Served as part of an Advisory team for 2+ years
- Familiarity with WealthTech platforms such as Salesforce, Orion, MoneyGuide, eMoney, Holistiplan, or similar financial technology tools.
- Experience supporting advisors, clients, or internal stakeholders in a platform or systems-focused role.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple requests and priorities simultaneously, and meet deadlines.
- Advanced written and verbal communication skills with a service-oriented mindset.
- Comfort working with technology platforms and learning new systems quickly.
- Critical thinker: able to understand core objectives and creatively solve for methods to achieve them.
- Deep understanding and appreciation of the advisory industry, with a continual mindset of what we can create to educate and inspire them.
- Ability to work autonomously and effectively in a fast-paced, complex, multi-tasking environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Professional certifications specific to the advisory industry (CFP, CPA, EA preferred)
This position is an exempt position.The annualized base pay range for this role is expected to be between $70,000-$90,000 base salary compensation range. Actual base pay could vary based on factors including but not limited to experience, subject matter expertise, geographic location where work will be performed, and the applicant's skill set. The base pay is just one component of the total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include an annual cash bonus and a comprehensive benefits package.
