Core Responsibilities:

Responsible for leading, developing, and implementing cutting-edge Natural Language Processing (NLP) algorithms that automate the processing of business documents. Work closely with our product and engineering teams to ensure that our solutions are scalable, efficient, and effective. Specific duties include: (1) Develop features to upgrade the core functionality of Alkymi's platform; (2) Communicate technical concepts and insights to both technical and non-technical stakeholders; (3) Monitor the performance of AI solutions deployed to production. Perform maintenance as necessary;(4) Build end-to-end data extraction pipelines using transformers, large language models and various natural language processing techniques to extract structured information from unstructured financial documents for diverse use cases; (5) Act as the technical lead on projects; (6) Supervise and mentor 1- 3 junior data scientists. Qualifications:

This position requires a Master’s degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Mathematics, or a related field and 4 years of related experience. Must also have 24 months of experience, as demonstrated through employment or academic coursework, with each of the following: 1) Analyzing large datasets to identify patterns and data insights; 2) Building and deploying systems for automating business processes; 3) Working with Python and common data science and machine learning libraries such as numpy, pandas, and pytorch; 4) Fine tuning transformer-based language models for classification and data extraction from documents from the financial service industry; 5) Source code management, debugging, testing, and deployment; 6) Text pre-processing and normalization techniques, including tokenization and POS tagging for text document processing; 7) Using NLP deep learning algorithms for text document processing and for financial documents and working directly with NLP for digital documents and scans, including extracting and modeling the text and layout of those documents; and 8) Leading technical projects and managing and mentoring junior data scientists, engineers, and interns. Will accept experience gained before, during, or after Master’s program. Employer will accept experience gained concurrently.
