The Lead Financial Advisor is responsible for maintaining compliance with financial aid regulations and ensuring operational efficiency within their respective team by working closely with their Student Finance Manager in areas of goal planning, monitoring and training for the Financial Aid staff. This position will assist the team to reach sub-group and departmental goals and objectives by motivating individuals and promoting teamwork. This position will work with the Student Finance Managers and the training team to assist with the ongoing training and staff development needs of the Financial Aid Office.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Coordinate and plan the daily efforts for teams through proper utilization of Reports, shadowing with the team and one- on-one comprehension checks.
- Assist in monitoring the Financial Aid phone tree and outbound calls through Call Management System (CMS), phone call monitoring, and/or activity/ISIR reviews (as applicable)
- Provides tier-two level support for student inquiries using advanced problem solving skills
- Generate critical departmental reports through proficient use of CampusVue application
- Work with Student Finance Managers to connect individual contributions with organizational and departmental goals
- Assist SFM in developing team commitment and motivating team members
- Constant and consistent auditing/review of new advisors daily responsibilities to identify trends for training opportunities
- Assist in the assimilation of new financial aid staff members
- Ensure compliance on a student-by-student level by working closely with department/campus employees
- Lead or manage departmental projects as assigned
- Assist Student Finance Manager in special projects or requests as needed
QUALIFICATIONS
Education & Experience
- Minimum - 1 year Front End Financial Aid Experience
- Preferred - Bachelor's Degree from an institution accredited by an agency recognized by the US Department of Education (or International Equivalent) in Business or related discipline or equivalent experience
- Preferred - Functional and technical experience in the area of Financial Aid counseling and/or awarding

- Strong business acumen and understanding of campus and functional operations
- Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal skills, with a demonstrated customer service approach and an ability to communicate to wide array of stakeholders at various levels in the organization
- Strong ability to recognize and share critical information in a timely manner with team members with various stakeholders
- Strong knowledge of CampusVue application and Campus Advisor Summary Report
- Possesses strong leadership competencies in the following areas: approachability, action-oriented, process management and priority setting
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
- Demonstrated ability to problem solve in highly ethical manner
- Ability to function in a fast-paced, multi-tasking environment
- Must be able to acquire and maintain access to the National Student Loan Database System (NSLDS) by remaining in good-standing on any Title IV loans and abiding by all the NSLDS rules of behavior
Between $20.89 and $26.44 per hour
