MetLife Investments is seeking a Lead Software Development Engineer to enhance the technical delivery of MetLife Investment's Risk Framework Solutions. The ideal candidate will possess strong development and engineering capabilities, communication, collaboration, with hands-on experience implementing Investments and Finance data domains by enabling continuous delivery techniques within cloud infrastructure.
Provides technical expertise for product teams building and maintaining solutions using Azure/AWS Cloud platforms. Collaborates with the product line architect to review solution design and roadmap. Enables product delivery through hands-on development and in collaboration with developers, analysts, and business to build fully vetted products that ensures that new capabilities are implemented according to enterprise standards. Key Responsibilities
The Lead full stack engineer works with the product teams to solution and support various risk applications related to Market, Credit and Counterparty risk. In addition, this role interacts with derivative data warehousing and front office applications. This role is primarily focused on .Net and Cloud technologies with exposure to Java and Python. This individual needs to have a passion for Agile DevOps enabled software development, infrastructure automation to accelerate the team's delivery of business value.
The ideal candidate for this role needs to have extensive software development experience in C#, Microsoft Azure, who can work independently. Ability to interact with Front Office, Middle Office and Enterprise Risk users and translating business requirements to quality software.
Qualifications:
Required:
- 7-8 years of experience
- Hands-on software development with strong technical understanding of designing and building enterprise scale web-based applications both on-prem and in the Cloud.
- API-driven solution stack, data processing
- Database skills, Object oriented programming, design patterns and development knowledge
- Distributed front-end and/or back-end hands-on application development with .Net, SQL and Rest APIs a must.
- Experience driving DevSecOps adoption, preferably with MS Azure for native branch management and pipeline-based deployments in YAML.
- Working knowledge of Power BI, Kyligence
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills as well as ability to establish strong relationships across teams to effectively deliver work across the enterprise.
- Responsible for prioritizing problems, incidents, and service requests and managing process with Product Owner.
- Experience with Agile software development, continuous integration and deployment (GitHub or Azure Devops preferred)
Preferred
- Hands on Python, Java, JavaScript, React/Angular/Web Components a plus
- Ability to build, deliver and operate complex, cloud-based systems (Azure or AWS)
- Experience with test-driven development and continuous testing.
- Exposure to modern AI concepts such as generative AI, various models of machine learning, large language models, conversational AI (chatbot, etc.).
- Background in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or similarly related field.
- Experience with Numerix, Murex, Calypso COTS products is a big plus
- Experience with heavy computational tools like HPC, grid computing a plus
This role is also eligible for annual short-term incentive compensation. The wage range for applicants for this position is $115,000 to $155,000. This role is also eligible for annual short-term incentive compensation.
