The Opportunity
This Lead Project Manager is responsible for planning, directing, and coordinating project activities and resources to ensure successful delivery on time and within budget. This role serves as the primary point of contact for clients during software implementation projects, which may involve a combination of software, hardware, and services.The Project Manager will manage interactions between internal teams, clients, and vendors, ensuring contractual obligations are met and will drive overall customer satisfaction. This position also plays a key leadership role in mentoring project managers and refining processes for continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities
Project Leadership & Execution
- Demonstrated ability to influence and drive action across cross-functional teams without direct authority.
- Capable of delivering clear, concise recommendations and actionable solutions to senior leadership.
- Initiate, plan, execute, control, and close projects in alignment with organizational goals.
- Assemble and lead project teams, assign responsibilities, and ensure timely completion of deliverables.
- Manage strategic portfolios, including high-revenue engagements, with minimal supervision.
Planning & Coordination
- Collaborate with stakeholders to define project scope, objectives, and deliverables.
- Develop detailed project plans, including timelines, milestones, and resource allocation.
- Coordinate cross-functional teams to ensure alignment with project objectives.
Risk & Change Management
- Identify potential risks and develop mitigation strategies.
- Manage changes to project scope, schedule, and budget effectively.
Stakeholder Communication
- Demonstrated ability to influence and drive action across cross-functional teams without direct authority.
- Builds strong, collaborative relationships to align stakeholders and secure commitment to project objectives
- Skilled in persuasive communication and negotiation to achieve results in complex environments
- Conduct status meetings, presentations, and prepare comprehensive reports; provide regular updates on project progress, milestones, and deviations.
- Act as a liaison between technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Team Development & Mentorship
- Mentor project managers and assist with onboarding and training new hires.
- Support team members with escalations and consult on large-scale projects.
Process Improvement
- Optimize processes for speed, identify opportunities for improvement, and make recommendations that can be quickly and effectively implemented
- Lead technical discussions between product and operations teams to improve processes.
- Drive and refine project management methodologies and best practices.
Financial & Reporting
- Prepare weekly financial milestones, monthly forecasting for revenue recognition, and end-of-month project completion reports.
- Maintain accurate project documentation, including meeting minutes and action items.
Quality Assurance
- Ensure all deliverables meet established quality standards.
- Communicate quality expectations clearly to the team.
Requirements
- Education: B.A. or B.S. Degree; Master’s Degree preferred.
- PMP certification required.
- Experience: 5+ years of project management experience, including leadership of complex projects and teams.
- Skills & Expertise:
- Advanced knowledge of project management methodologies (e.g., PMBOK, SCRUM).
- Proven ability to create and implement project management processes.
- Proficiency in project management tools for scheduling, risk management, forecasting, and reporting.
- Strong communication and presentation skills for diverse audiences.
- Ability to manage strategic portfolios and high-revenue engagements independently.
