Boeing, Defense, Space, and Security (BDS) is seeking motivated, talented Lead Propulsion Engineer to support key suppliers for our Starliner program located in Redmond, WA.
This role provides liaison support between suppliers and Boeing Starliner propulsion teams for the purpose of expediting the implementation of technical solutions in coordination with the Boeing supplier program manager.

Position Responsibilities:
- Leads definition of requirements for propulsion systems, auxiliary power systems and vehicle fuel and tank systems.
- Leads definition, coordination and control of the functional and physical interfaces between the propulsion system and the vehicle.
- Leads development of specifications and architectural and configuration concepts for associated vehicle systems to meet customer and regulatory requirements.
- Leads configuration and design of propulsion sub-systems and components to meet all vehicle design and performance criteria.
- Leads the use of various testing, analysis, modeling and simulation tools to estimate or calculate system performance.
- Leads the definition and performance of certification tests for propulsion sub-systems and components. Leads support of fielded systems by developing responses to customer queries and providing technical recommendations.
- Leads development of concepts for future propulsion systems to meet anticipated requirements.
- Works under minimal direction.
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience)
- Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology (including Manufacturing Technology), Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry or non-US equivalent qualifications directly related to the work statement
- Experience in the design, development, and integration of spaceflight propulsion systems
- Previous experience with component qualification test campaigns and system certification supporting NASA programs
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
- 9+ years of related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- Matlab Proficiency
- Transient Analysis Capability
- Subsystem Test Design, Execution, and Analysis
- Excellent communications skills, verbal and written
- Ability to effectively communicate at all levels of management, customers, and partners
- Experience gaining trust of team and stakeholders
- Previous launch vehicle manufacturing experience
