Job Description

We are seeking a highly motivated Lead UI Engineer with an interest in quantitative finance to join the SS&C Everywhere Cloud Development team. This individual will help design and implement a set of new web UIs using React and lead the UI team in establishing efficient, scalable front-end development practices. The UIs are part of a wider initiative to develop an innovative cloud native platform providing financial data, analytics, and AI solutions to banks, asset managers, insurance companies and hedge funds.

Primary Responsibilities

• Hands-on design, coding, testing, and technical leadership in an agile and continuous delivery process
• Guide and mentor a team of UI engineers, fostering collaboration and setting standards for high-quality front-end development
• Lead the integration of Figma into the design-to-development workflow, enabling better collaboration between designers and engineers
• Drive adoption of Storybook for component development and documentation
• Curate and evolve a portable, shared UI component library to be used across multiple teams and applications
• Develop on the cloud using tools such as JIRA, GitLab, Artifactory, and Docker
• Write well-structured code following established coding standards
• Develop software for both cloud and on-premise deployments with an understanding of design for scalability, performance, and reliability

Qualifications

• Experience with React/Redux
• Experience with JavaScript and/or TypeScript
• Experience with CSS
• Experience building and maintaining shared component libraries
• Familiarity with design systems and design tooling such as Figma
• Experience with Storybook or similar component documentation tools
• Knowledge of web application unit testing and end-to-end testing
• Knowledge of web sockets a plus

Education

• Undergraduate degree in computer science or equivalent work experience
