Thanks for your interest in Success Academy! Running a large, fast-growing, and high-performing network of public charter schools takes a village - families, children, teachers, staff and faculty, advocates, and supporters alike. We would love to welcome you to our community! We work tirelessly every day to ensure children have access to a fun, rigorous, whole-child education regardless of zip code or economic status. When you join SA, you play a part in giving every student who walks through our doors a fair shot at reaching his or her potential.

Success Academy’s mission is to reimagine public education. From the classroom to the halls of government, this means finding profoundly different approaches to how to deliver a high-quality education at scale. We re-conceive every aspect of school design, from writing rigorous new curricula to drawing regularly on the advances in technology and business that are transforming every sector except education.

This school year marks the 19th anniversary of Success Academies and the launch of our mission to drive public education as an excellent, efficient, and equitable pillar of American society. During this time, Success Academies has grown faster than any charter network in the nation, building a vibrant network of 59 elementary, middle, and high schools. Our 20,000 children – from underrepresented communities – are out-performing students at top city and suburban schools across New York State. Looking forward, our goals are even more ambitious: to grow to 100 schools and to educate 50,000 children across New York City in a uniquely holistic pre-K-12 system, bringing transformational change here and across the country through extraordinary school quality.

Role Overview:
We are looking for a proactive and strategic Leader of Operations Strategy to serve as a central hub for communication for our Enterprise Operations department. This role will manage “air traffic control” for operational escalations from schools and streamline intake processes across various platforms, ensuring seamless communication and collaboration among teams. The ideal candidate will excel in data tracking and analysis, with a strong focus on identifying opportunities for improvement and effectively communicating insights to executive stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities:

  • Platform Integration: Align systems and processes to minimize reliance on distinct platforms (e.g., Monday.com, email traffic, TeamDynamix tickets), fostering a unified approach to operations.

  • Data Collection & Analysis: Collect and analyze data related to operational processes and external partner interactions. Identify trends and areas of opportunity for improvement.

  • Communication Management: Maintain hyper-responsive communication with stakeholders via email, texts, and phone calls. Ensure timely updates and clarity on escalated issues.

  • Over-Communication & Managing Up: Proactively communicate status updates and key developments to executive stakeholders, ensuring they are informed and engaged in operational matters.

  • Reporting: Develop and deliver comprehensive reports that synthesize data findings and propose actionable courses of action to enhance operational efficiency and effectiveness.

  • Continuous Improvement: Identify and implement process enhancements based on data insights and feedback from teams and external partners.

Required Traits and Competencies:

  • Have worked as a leader for at least 2 years.

  • A passion for processes, and the ability to maintain strong systems;

  • Exceedingly strong work ethic and grit, flexible and open-minded;

  • Strong organizational and administrative abilities and has a meticulous attention to detail;

  • Excellent critical and creative thinking skills;

  • A self-starter attitude, to independently and successfully manage projects;

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills - quick to respond, both oral and written;

  • Ability to build and maintain close relationships with members of the school community (scholars, staff, leaders, parents, etc.);

  • A passion for education and eager to learn and grow in a fast-paced, mission-driven environment!
