Leasing Associate
Openigloo

About Us

Openigloo is on a mission to make renting fair, accessible, and transparent for all. We envision a world where renting is as easy as booking a hotel, where renters can research, apply, sign, and pay all in one place. We’re building a next-generation leasing marketplace that has supported over 2 million NYC renters with their apartment hunt. As we scale, we need a hands-on leader to own and drive our leasing strategy.

The Role

We are seeking a Leasing Associate to join our growing team in NYC! The ideal candidate is personable, organized and thrives in fast-paced environments. You’ll be responsible for supporting renters through every step of the leasing process - from scheduling tours to submitting applications. This is a unique opportunity to learn the ins and outs of NYC real estate!

If you’re not licensed yet, that’s okay—we’ll cover the cost of your New York State real estate licensing exam and study materials.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct in-person apartment showings across NYC
  • Follow up with renter leads, answer questions, and guide them through the leasing process
  • Support clients with scheduling appointments, completing applications, and providing documentation
  • Coordinate with the Leasing Manager to confirm availability, pricing, and access for tours
  • Track activity and communications in our internal systems
  • Deliver excellent customer service and maintain Openigloo’s reputation for transparency and trust

Qualifications

  • Strong communication and organizational skills
  • Experience in a customer service, sales, or support role (real estate experience a plus)
  • Willingness to work some evenings or weekends depending on tour volume
  • High sense of urgency and responsiveness - this is a fast-moving role where leads must be followed up with in real-time
  • Valid NYS Real Estate License OR willingness to obtain one (we’ll cover the cost!)

Compensation & Structure

  • Compensation: This is a 100% commission-based sales role within the real estate industry. Values listed below should be viewed as a tool to help guide your understanding of our commission structure, but should not be construed as a promise of future payment. Your hard work in this role will be rewarded - commissions are uncapped, designed intentionally so the more you close, the more you earn.
    • Agents should expect to close at least 4 leases per month, for an average payout of $45,000 per year; our highest performing agents regularly close 9-10 leases a month (an average payout of ~$120,000 per year).
  • Location: This an in-person position based out of our office in Brooklyn, with regular travel around NYC for showings / meetings

What’s in it for you?

This is a high-impact role, shaping the future of renting in NYC. You’ll get to spend your days contributing to and working with a fast-moving, collaborative, and mission-focused team.

We’d love to hear from you:

Please fill out this form to apply. Thanks!
