Position Overview

As a Legal Specialist, you will support live private equity, M&A and financing transactions for leading global investment firms, asset managers and corporates. You will review and negotiate NDAs and ancillary transaction documents in line with client-approved playbooks, ensuring alignment with legal and commercial positions.

This role sits within Scissero’s Legal Managed Services team and is being hired to support a planned secondment with one of our key clients: a leading global alternative asset manager with a high-volume transactional pipeline.

The successful candidate will initially join Scissero for a few months of onboarding, training on our legal review processes, client playbooks, legal technology, workflow systems and service delivery model. Following this, they will undertake a ~12-month client secondment, working closely with the client’s internal legal and investment teams.

During the secondment, you will support the review, negotiation and management of NDAs and related deal-flow documentation. The role will also include legal operations support. Prior legal operations or secondment experience is not required, but candidate must have interest and willingness to learn.

This role would suit someone who is highly organised, client-facing, curious about how legal services are delivered at scale, and open to developing broader legal operations skills alongside core transactional legal work.

Following the secondment, the candidate will return to Scissero and continue developing within the Legal / Managed Services team, bringing back deeper client-side experience and operational insight. You will use Scissero’s proprietary AI-enabled platform to support document review, deviation identification and playbook application, while retaining full ownership and accountability for final output.

This is an opportunity to build strong transactional legal experience while working at the forefront of AI-enabled legal services, supporting sophisticated clients on complex, real-world transactions.

Key Responsibilities

• Review, draft, and negotiate NDAs and ancillary transaction documents across private equity, M&A, and financing transactions.

•Undertake a planned 12-month secondment with a leading global alternative asset manager following an initial onboarding period within Scissero’s Managed Services team.

• Apply client-specific playbooks and structured frameworks to ensure alignment with agreed client positions.

• Identify deviations from playbook positions and implement appropriate fallback language in line with client guidance.

• Manage your own workflow and document queue, prioritising effectively to meet defined turnaround times and service levels.

• Support live deal execution across multiple concurrent transactions in fast-paced environments.

• Work directly with internal stakeholders to maintain operational efficiency and service excellence.

• Contribute to the continuous improvement of internal processes and delivery workflows.

Legal Technology & AI Integration

• Use proprietary AI tools to accelerate document review and enhance accuracy and consistency.

• Maintain full oversight of legal output, ensuring all deliverables meet client and internal quality standards.

• Provide structured feedback to product and engineering teams to support ongoing platform improvement.

• Work within an AI-native legal delivery model that combines legal expertise with technology.

What you'll bring

• Law degree (LLB or equivalent).

• 1-3 years of experience in transactional legal work, contract review, or similar high-volume legal environments.

• Experience reviewing NDAs and/or similar transactional agreements.

• Excellent written and spoken English.

• Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing consistently high-quality work.

Preferred Experience

• Experience supporting private equity, M&A, capital markets, or financing transactions.

• Experience at legal tech firms, law firms, ALSPs, Big 4 legal teams, or in-house legal departments.

• Experience working with structured playbooks or standardised legal frameworks.

• Prior experience in an operations role with a demonstrated interest in developing and expanding these skills further would be beneficial, although not essential
