As Associate Corporate Counsel, you will be the fifth lawyer at OwnBackup, the 25th fastest-growing company in the Americas. In this role, you will be instrumental in helping our organization grow by supporting the Commercial Sales team and helping to support our explosive expansion. This is an ideal role for an attorney just starting their legal career, with an opportunity to work with and learn from an experienced team at an amazing organization. You will help design and implement policies and processes to build and scale the legal function of a fast-moving, successful cloud startup.  This role will be based in our New Jersey office. 

Your Day-to-Day Role

• Provide critical support for reviewing, drafting, and negotiating commercial agreements for our SaaS solutions.
• Have the ability to identify organizational legal and compliance needs and develop high visibility plans to address those needs.
• Own the management and execution of agreements governing our critical confidential information.
• Support in drafting guidelines and policies as we seek to expand our operational excellence.

Your Work Experience

• Licensed to practice law in the US
• 1+ years of experience practicing law at a law firm, corporation, or legal services organization handling technology-related agreements
• Some experience negotiating technology sales contracts
• Experience drafting and negotiating enterprise SaaS / cloud agreements preferred
• Business judgment and ability to assess legal risk while providing practical advice
• Ability to organize, prioritize and manage deadlines in a fast-paced and demanding work environment
• Desire to pitch in and help where needed in fast-growing startup
• Thoughtful and persuasive interpersonal skills and ability to build and maintain strong working relationships
• Enthusiastic team member who enjoys taking ownership of projects, building relationships cross-functionally and working on cutting-edge legal issues

Important Details

This is a full-time position. The ideal candidate will work out of our New Jersey office.
