Required qualifications:
The successful candidate will have:
- 2+ years of experience working with Linux operating systems, ideally Red Hat 8+, including a conceptual understanding of core infrastructure components such as storage, backup, and monitoring (deep expertise not required — solid fundamentals are).
- Understanding of virtualization concepts, such as VMware or similar platforms.
- Strong Python programming skills, with the ability to develop scripts and infrastructure-as-code.
- Familiarity with web UI concepts and making/consuming API calls.
- Ability to write Ansible playbooks for configuration management.
- Understanding of GitHub and its automation capabilities.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- A collaborative, team-first mindset and the interpersonal skills to work effectively across a group.
- Exposure to CI/CD pipelines or GitHub Actions.
- Familiarity with REST APIs in a systems or automation context.
- Coursework, certifications, or personal projects involving Linux or automation.
- Help maintain and support Linux-based production infrastructure.
- Write and maintain Ansible playbooks to automate configuration and routine operational tasks.
- Develop Python tooling and infrastructure-as-code to reduce manual work and improve reliability.
- Support monitoring, backup, and storage systems, and help respond to issues as they arise.
- Use Git/GitHub for version control and contribute to automated workflows (CI/CD).
- Collaborate with the team on improvements to system stability, performance, and process.
