Job Description

POSITION PURPOSE

The primary purpose of the Local Sales Representative, Craft Ice is to drive the growth and expansion of the company's Craft Ice Products through Food Service (Bars, Restaurants, Arenas, Special Events, etc.) and through Retail Channels (Liquor Stores and small format convenience, and NON-Chain local retail business.)  This includes identifying, pursuing, and securing new business opportunities while delivering products to customers. This role combines sales and delivery responsibilities, focusing on generating new revenue streams and maintaining existing accounts. The Local Sales Representative, Craft Ice will leverage their expertise in sales strategies, market analysis, relationship building, and efficient delivery to achieve ambitious sales targets and contribute to the company's overall success.

Although this is a sales-oriented position, it also requires daily driving a non-commercial company van through which deliveries and sales outreach will be completed. Reddy Ice has a strong safety culture, and our number one focus is making “Safety Personal” and adhering to all the safety standards and processes. This includes doing daily DVIR (inspections) of the vehicle and always operating the vehicle in a safe manner. Reddy Ice does use technology to monitor all our vehicles activities to include Dash Cam, and other Telematics systems that monitor the vehicle and driver for safe operations.

Demonstrates our “True North” attributes: voice of the customer, respect for the individual, no nonsense communication and utilization of facts, servant leadership and has a continuous improvement mindset in every facet of leadership and daily interaction. Leads, collaborates and demonstrates the lean principles and utilizes the lean methodologies and tools to facilitate continuous process improvements and value creation for our customers, employees and shareholders. Actively utilizes lean tools (VSM, Kaizen, A3, etc.) to inform and assess business opportunities to drive continuous improvement. Lead and participate in Kaizen and value stream mapping activities.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Combine sales efforts with product delivery to maximize customer satisfaction and business growth.

Proactively identify and pursue both new non-chain retail stores as well as a heavy focus around Food Service.

Research and qualify both company-provided and self-generated leads, using tools/lists, referrals, industry publications, and “drive-by” activities to identify and build a robust sales pipeline of profitable accounts.

Conduct cold calls, emails, and other outreach methods to generate new leads and set up meetings with senior decision-makers, owners, and managers.

Develop and maintain strong relationships with potential clients to understand their needs and position products effectively for growth and quota attainment.

Prepare and deliver compelling sales presentations to prospective clients using supplied tools.

Stay updated on industry trends, competitor activities, and market conditions to identify opportunities and threats.

Achieve and exceed sales targets, quotas, and goals. Self-motivated, goal-oriented, and highly driven to win.

Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Strong organizational and time management skills.

Adaptability and resilience in a fast-paced environment.

Ensure timely and efficient delivery of products to customers, maintaining high standards of customer service and adhering to our strict safety standards of operating a vehicle while delivering products safely and efficiently.

Make and assume other duties and responsibilities required or assigned by management.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

  • Minimum of 2-3 years of direct sales experience 
  • Strong prospecting and lead generation skills a must.
  • Excellent communication and people skills. Ability to build and maintain relationships with clients and cross-functional internal teams.
  • Strong negotiation and closing skills.
  • Valid driver's license and clean driving record.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY

This is a cross-functional role along with external direct reports. Individual contributor role. No direct reports.

WORKING CONDITIONS/PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Must be able to lift up to 40 lbs. The work is conducted in a fast-paced, rapidly changing environment. The ability to manage stress, build professional and collaborative relationships, and reason through complex business situations is essential. Must be a initiative-taker.
