MA Privacy Director
Overview The MA Privacy Director (MAPD) is the regional privacy lead for the Market Area. The role supports and advises stakeholders - including legal counsels, DPOs, management, security, and sales - in implementing Ericsson's global privacy framework (the Framework).
The MAPD brings key stakeholders together, fosters accountability, and drives local monitoring through the common privacy posture methodology used for Market Area oversight. The focus is on enabling effective local implementation of the Framework, aligned with the three-lines-of-defense model, and on strengthening local ownership by providing specialist support and training so local teams understand the requirements and expectations
What you will do
Key Responsibilities
Local Framework Implementation
  • Build and maintain a strong network of country, functional and CU privacy advisors, managers and/or lawyers to ensure the privacy strategy, templates and standards within the Framework are understood, accessible and used.
  • Advise locally responsible stakeholders on measures required for effective local implementation of the Framework, based on their specific operational context.
  • Promote clarity of roles and responsibilities in line with the three-lines-of-defense structure to enable consistent and accountable implementation across the Market Area.

Risk Management
  • Support the identification, assessment and documentation of privacy risks, ensuring alignment with the enterprise risk framework.
  • Work with the MA Head of Legal and MA Head of Security to ensure risks are clearly owned, appropriately mitigated and escalated where required.
  • Ensure Market Area privacy risks are actively monitored through both local processes and the overarching GFLA Privacy risk management process.

Stakeholder Engagement and Training
  • Conduct privacy training and awareness activities that build a strong culture of privacy and support local accountability.
  • Support Market Area stakeholders in developing Market Area-specific templates, standards and working tools, or ensure they are familiar with those already available in the Framework.
  • Engage regularly with teams and stakeholders to facilitate practical, consistent and business-relevant application of the Framework

Policy Development and Legal Guidance
  • Translate relevant regulations and industry privacy standards into clear policies, guidance, tools and best practices that support local implementation.
  • Provide timely, pragmatic advice to Market Area security, business and legal teams in escalation cases.
  • Maintain an up-to-date inventory of applicable laws and regulations relevant to Market Area business activities.
  • Advise on questions related to privacy processes within OneTrust to ensure global consistency and alignment.

Coordination and Reporting
  • Serve as a central point of contact for privacy advisors, managers and CU Legal on Market Area privacy matters.
  • Report and escalate privacy-related risks to the Chief Privacy Officer and the MA Head of Legal in a structured and timely manner.
  • Keep privacy advisors and the MA Head of Legal informed of relevant privacy developments, Framework updates and regulatory changes.
  • Support the preparation and delivery of regular updates to Market Area management and other stakeholders on privacy risks, compliance posture and Framework implementation progress.

Leadership and Organization
  • Report to the Chief Privacy Officer as part of the GFLA Privacy team, contributing to the overall direction and maturity of Ericsson's global privacy program.
  • Collaborate closely with the MA Head of Legal, maintaining an active dialogue on regulatory developments, emerging risks and local implementation priorities.
  • Strengthen local ownership and accountability by providing specialist support from the GFLA team while empowering local teams to understand and meet Framework expectations.
