Mainframe Developer (Assembler, C, Java)

Are you an experienced Mainframe developer who loves building reliable, scalable software? SailPoint is hiring a Backend Software Engineer to work on the systems that bridge our leading products with Mainframe systems. This is an opportunity to join a team that is passionate about creating modern and impactful Mainframe products.

Responsibilities

• Deliver efficient, maintainable, robust code.
• Produce designs and rough estimates, and implement features based on product requirements.
• Effectively collaborate with peers across different timezones on designs, code reviews, and testing.
• Produce unit and end-to-end tests to improve code quality and maximize code coverage for new and existing features.
• Fast learner and self-directed, flexible enough to work on new technologies as well as some legacy components.

Requirements

• Strong experience in designing and implementing mainframe applications in an IBM z/OS environment.
• Strong knowledge of programming in C, C++, JCL and REXX on z/OS
• Good Knowledge of build and test automation.
• Good knowledge of Diagnostics, Debugging and Troubleshooting skills on mainframe applications
• Must be proficient with problem determination, analysis and resolution.
• Experience in managing source code with Git repository or any other version control system.

Preferred

• Good knowledge of Assembler coding on z/OS
• knowledge on IBM z/OS security systems like RACF, ACF2 or Top Secret
• Exposure to Java.

As a part of the total compensation package, this role may be eligible for the SailPoint Corporate Bonus Plan or a role-specific commission, along with potential eligibility for equity participation. SailPoint maintains broad salary ranges for its roles to account for variations in knowledge, skills, experience, market conditions and locations, as well as reflect SailPoint’s differing products, industries, and lines of business. Candidates are typically placed into the range based on the preceding factors as well as internal peer equity. We estimate the base salary, for US-based employees, will be in this range from (min-mid-max, USD):

Base salaries for employees based in other locations are competitive for the employee’s home location.
