Role Overview:
We are looking for a highly experienced Mainframe Security Specialist to support a South African financial services client on a short-term, high-impact engagement.
This role focuses on addressing a critical audit finding related to MQ security on mainframe systems, ensuring robust access controls and security patterns are implemented ahead of a strict remediation deadline.
The successful candidate will bring deep expertise in mainframe security, MQ environments, and Broadcom Top Secret, along with the ability to collaborate with other senior engineers and SMEs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead remediation of MQ security vulnerabilities within a mainframe environment.
- Design and implement secure access control frameworks using Broad-com Top Secret.
- Define and document security patterns and controls across:
- Batch processing environments
- CICS transactions
- User access and permissions
- Third-party integrations
- Batch processing environments
- Collaborate with mainframe and MQ engineers/SMEs to ensure best-practice security implementation
- Provide expert input on mainframe security architecture and governance
- Ensure all remediation activities are completed within audit timelines (before September deadline)
- Produce clear documentation of security configurations, standards, and patterns
