The Manager, 401(k) Relationship Management leads a team responsible for delivering exceptional service to retirement plan clients. This role oversees day-to-day client relationship management, supports retirement plan administration, and partners across the organization to ensure timely, accurate service while driving client satisfaction and retention.
Essential ResponsibilitiesTeam Leadership- Lead, coach, and develop a team of Retirement Plan Relationship Managers.
- Monitor workloads, priorities, and service levels to ensure a high-quality client experience.
- Provide ongoing performance feedback, training, and professional development.
- Support hiring, onboarding, and employee development initiatives.
- Serve as the primary escalation point for complex client service matters.
- Manage relationships with assigned retirement plan sponsors and business partners.
- Conduct client review meetings and identify opportunities to enhance service delivery.
- Drive client retention through proactive communication and relationship management.
- Oversee the timely and accurate completion of retirement plan service requests.
- Partner with Operations, Compliance, and Participant Services to resolve client needs.
- Monitor service metrics and recommend process improvements to increase efficiency.
- Support plan implementations, amendments, annual reviews, and special projects.
- Promote adherence to ERISA, IRS, and Department of Labor requirements.
- Ensure accurate documentation and maintenance of client records.
- Assist with audit requests and regulatory reporting activities.
- Identify opportunities to strengthen existing client relationships.
- Support leadership with client presentations and retention initiatives.
- Contribute to business growth within existing client accounts.
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience preferred.
- 3–7 years of experience in retirement plan administration, employee benefits, financial services, or client relationship management.
- Previous leadership, supervisory, or team lead experience preferred.
- Experience working with 401(k), Pooled Employer Plans (PEPs), or other defined contribution retirement plans.
- Demonstrated ability to build strong client relationships, lead teams, and deliver exceptional customer service.
- Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
The anticipated pay range for this position is $65,000–$70,000 annually. At Strongpoint Partners, salary ranges reflect the minimum and maximum base pay for the posted position across all U.S. locations. Individual compensation is determined based on geographic location, job-related skills, experience, education, and certifications. Total compensation includes base pay and a comprehensive benefits package.
