Caterpillar is seeking a Manager Digital Product to lead the development and management of the Used Digital portfolio of products (customer and dealer facing). MyUsed.cat.com and CatUsed.cat.com are the two primary interfaces supporting the collective dealer used operations and marketing. This role will collaborate with other digital product businesses that include but are not limited to the Helios Platform team, Cat Inspect and Caterpillar Foresight. The role will lead the team in the ongoing development and maintenance of world-class capabilities to support dealer operations and marketing.
What You Will Do:
  • Own the Used Digital roadmap and properly prioritize features that generate increased usage and lead generation. The candidate will utilize their Used and Dealer process expertise to extend digital capabilities to drive profitable Used Equipment sales for Dealers and to align Caterpillar's Used Equipment Strategy.
  • This role will drive toward eCommerce capabilities for Used Equipment and work collaboratively with the Cat.com and Cat Rentals digital teams to build a seamless customer-centric shopping experience across all channels.
  • Work closely with the Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) teams to develop integrations to that platform and drive optimizations in Dealer's Used Equipment processes (i.e. appraisals, inspections, service / repair, sales quoting, trade-ins).
  • Define and own the roadmap for the Used Digital portfolio of applications.
  • Prioritize capabilities, intake requests and features to drive business KPIs.
  • Monitor core metrics to identify opportunities to improve customer and dealer experience
  • Lead and mentor direct reports to effective delivery of features, ensuring a high-quality customer experience.
  • Align with other product leads to ensure consistent experience across Caterpillar applications.
  • Work directly with business analysts/development team to improve their understanding of the used business
  • Collaborate with business, design and engineering peers to solve complex integrations with other, related applications and data sources at Caterpillar and externally.
  • The role will also be responsible for working with dealers to understand business needs, prioritize those needs and see them implemented in the product portfolio.
  • Collaborate with Used business stakeholders to elicit, analyze, and document complex business requirements for equipment catalog, inventory sourcing / fulfillment logic and shopping experience.
  • Lead solution design sessions with engineering and subject matter experts to define the experience and technical solutions and translate into actionable development specifications.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including Cat Digital leads, external vendors and Caterpillar Dealers.
  • Generate presentations and communicate effectively product roadmap & capabilities.
  • Collaborate with Training department to deliver user training programs, provide ongoing support and address user issues / enhancement requests.

  • Leads process of defining, analyzing and discussing solution options with multiple stakeholders.
  • Confident in taking critical product decisions and coaches others in decision-making models, processes, and practices.
  • Shares experiences regarding optimal timing and circumstances for refraining from or making decisions.

Software Product Business Knowledge:
  • Defines and communicates product strategy, vision and functional roadmap.
  • Is recognized as an expert on product functions, features and implementation issues.
  • Leads functional product planning effort and drives solution definition with Design and Engineering to ensure a feasible and valuable delivery of capability for the product.
  • Anticipates new opportunities, while ensuring feedback from users is gathered, prioritized and incorporated into product roadmap.

Effective Communications:
  • Effectively creates presentations and supportive materials to align understanding to product vision, roadmap and capabilities.
  • Adapts documents and presentations for the intended audience.
  • Demonstrates both empathy and assertiveness when communicating a need or defending a position.
  • Communicates well downward, upward, and outward.

.Software Engineering:
  • Articulates key issues and opportunities for delivering product capabilities to meet global use cases.
  • Monitors organization's development benchmarks; actively promotes the adoption of new practices to improve collaboration and delivery outcomes
  • Monitors industry and other organizations for innovations in used equipment solutions / approaches.
  • Demonstrates in-depth experience with software engineering of business-critical or multiple products.

Considerations For Top Candidates:
  • Extensive experience working in the Used Equipment or adjacent industry, preferably with dealer used operations experience
  • Proven experience in Product Management and/or technical background to deliver enterprise-level applications
  • Experience working within B2B and B2B2C organizations and integration between applications, service-layers and platforms
  • Experience in Agile software development environment operating at scale managing multiple concurrent teams,
  • Strong leadership in working within a matrixed organization to coordinate development, dependencies and risks for product delivery
  • Extreme ownership of their product and responsibilities that drives deliverables

Summary Pay Range:
$147,760.00 - $240,110.00
Compensation and benefits offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, job level, market location, job-related knowledge, skills, individual performance and experience. Please note that salary is only one component of total compensation at Caterpillar.
