Manager, Finance

We have an opportunity for a Manager, Finance to join our R&D Finance team, reporting to the Director, R&D Finance. In this pivotal role, you will own the COGS and OpEx reporting stream for R&D Finance, including SaaS margin analytics and Product P&Ls that directly feed our Board and executive reporting. You will help lead the stand-up of Anaplan as the primary planning and reporting platform for Finance, manage a small team of analysts, and apply AI-enabled tools to improve the speed, quality, and scalability of financial insights.

Collaborating closely with R&D leadership (CPO, CTO, CISO), Corporate FP&A, Accounting, and Sales Finance, you will deepen Infoblox’s FP&A team’s capabilities supporting our business partners, optimize cloud and infrastructure costs, and modernize how Finance works through automation, Anaplan model building, and responsible AI adoption.

We welcome applications from candidates across the United States. The role is fully remote for those located outside the Seattle and Santa Clara metro areas. Candidates based in the Seattle or Santa Clara areas will follow a hybrid schedule and work from the office on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Hiring decisions are based on qualifications, skills, and overall fit, not location.

Be a Contributor — What You’ll Do

  • Own the end-to-end Anaplan BvA and quarterly forecast process for Product, Engineering, and Security/InfoSec, including model design, driver logic, and reporting views
  • Build, enhance, and administer R&D Anaplan models (OpEx, COGS, headcount, and product economics), partnering with Finance Systems to ensure data quality and governance
  • Lead SaaS margin analytics, including margin views, SaaS COGS allocation methodologies, and GM% management across products and platforms
  • Maintain and refine Product P&Ls (ARR, revenue, COGS, OpEx, and EBITDA views), aligning to corporate LRP and Board reporting requirements
  • Manage monthly and quarterly close for R&D cost centers and SaaS COGS: post actuals, prepare accruals and journal entries, and assist with our monthly close process in partnership with Accounting
  • Own software capitalization (ASC 350-40) tracking, classification, and amortization schedules, working closely with Technical Accounting
  • Design and oversee cloud infrastructure cost allocation between COGS and R&D OpEx, ensuring transparent, repeatable methodologies
  • Lead PO approval routing and open PO tracking for R&D cost centers, partnering with Procurement and budget owners
  • Support internal and external audit requests for R&D expense, capex, software capitalization, and allocations
  • Lead and develop a team of two Finance analysts while partnering closely with peer Finance Managers across R&D Finance to align methodologies, coordinate close and forecast cycles, and ensure consistent reporting across the team
  • Apply AI tools (Claude, Aleph, etc.) to build dynamic reporting and reconciliation workflows that surface pattern-based insights for R&D leaders

Be Prepared — What You Bring

  • 8+ years of progressive FP&A or corporate finance experience in a SaaS, software, or technology environment. Preferably with Networking and/or Security experience
  • Strong hands-on Anaplan experience (preferably Anaplan IFP/IFS), including model building and administration; Anaplan Model Builder certification is a plus
  • Deep understanding of both License and Maintenance renewal dynamics (including hardware refresh cycles) and SaaS unit economics, with the ability to translate recurring revenue models and SaaS margin analytics into Product P&Ls and Board reporting
  • Demonstrated experience with month- and quarter-end close for OpEx and COGS, including accruals, journal entries, and reconciliations
  • Working knowledge of software capitalization under ASC 350-40 for internal-use software development costs
  • Experience allocating cloud infrastructure costs across COGS and R&D OpEx
  • Strong Excel skills and comfort working with financial models, large data sets, and multiple sources of information
  • Comfort using AI tools (Claude, productivity assistants) responsibly to improve finance workflows and insight generation
  • People leadership experience, including direct management experience, with a focus on feedback, development, and upskilling
  • Bachelor’s degree in any field. We welcome candidates from diverse academic backgrounds, who bring strong analytical and quantitative thinking to finance
