In this role, you will have the opportunity to support the organization’s vision and strategic direction.  Each day, you will apply IT knowledge and expertise to help solve complex technical or professional activities. You will also showcase your expertise by being a key resource, a definitive source of knowledge about services and solutions, to contribute your expertise to enhance organizational efficiency. This role will be supporting all Ireland ABB locations and you will be expected to work between the Dublin and Dundalk locations.

Your Role and Responsibilities

In this role, you’ll help run what runs the world, by taking on meaningful work that drives real impact.   

  • Involves and proactively supports the installation, management, maintenance, and optimization of IT service for their own area of responsibility. 

  • Takes action to ensure targets are met within established safety and quality procedures, corrects malfunctions, and calls on other experienced colleagues and external resources to ensure services are delivered proactively. 

  • Reviews requirements and specifications and identifies those that require action within their scope of responsibility, based on their technological, financial, and functional feasibilities. 

  • Coordinates the promotion, acquisition, development, and implementation of information systems and services in close liaison with those responsible for management and strategy.  

  • Provide consultation, advice, and supports the installation of IS services, or any changes in existing IS services. 

  • Identifies, proposes, advises, and implements IS processes and/or supports IS service implementation.  

  • Collaborates with stakeholders as required. 

  • Ensures that the information is presented effectively and communicated to the relevant stakeholders regularly.  

Qualifications for the Role  

  • A bachelor’s degree in information technology. 

  • More than 3 years of experience in IT service operation and support, working as IS Specialist with Microsoft Office365 services and computer hardware. 

  • Hands on experience with Microsoft Windows OS, computer hardware and troubleshooting. 

  • Hands on experience with network administration, including troubleshooting LAN/WLAN. 

  • Sound knowledge of Microsoft Office365, Microsoft Power Platform, Active Directory, Windows server and SQL. 

  • Knowledge of IT service management (ITIL certification is a plus). 

  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple demands on time, in cross-functional, virtual and international teams. 

  • A collaborative, solutions- and customer-service-oriented approach and strong communication skills. 

  • A valid Drivers Licence.
