Position Summary: Excel Sports Management is seeking a motivated manager to support current and future client representation for our Media Talent Division, including broadcasters, personalities, and influencers. The person in this role will be proactive, sales driven, detail-oriented, creative, energetic, personable and demonstrate a passion for the broadcast and media industry.  

Essential Duties & Responsibilities: 

  • Serves as the point person for specifically assigned clients in Media Talent: Creation and Execution of Individual Client Strategies for Career Advancement and Development; Contract Negotiation, Marketing/Branding, PR, Social Media, Digital and Day-to-Day Management/Concierge Services; 
  • Manages and owns current and future client servicing, network outreach and client recruitment.
  • Develops a roster of younger, up and coming clients who are the future of the media business. 
  • Develops a rolodex of and relationships with key executives and decision makers in the Media Talent industry
  • Develops, implements and executes holistic, comprehensive strategies for assigned clients, including non-media/ancillary opportunities like speaking engagements, endorsements, and appearances.
  • Assists in the creation and development of client marketing materials: one-sheets, bios and sizzle reels, including sourcing/logging of footage.
  • Ensures client information and all relevant materials are accurate and updated. 
  • Responsible for office and client administration to include contract management, facilitating marketing/media related payment processes and managing collections as appropriate.
  • Attends shoots, events and appearances with clients as needed.
  • Communicates effectively and in a timely manner with clients, outside partners and relevant broadcast/media outlet executives.
  • Interfaces with internal parties as it relates to various client opportunities and needs.
  • Tracks industry trends and developments, including openings and opportunities for clients.
  • Participates in strategic discussions and consistently and proactively develops ideas related to potential new media clients, brands and concepts.
  • Supports all divisions with marketing materials and creative ideas.
  • Ensures all materials and internal databases are up-to-date.
  • Develops contacts throughout the industry.
  • Contributes ideas for overall company growth.
  • All other duties as assigned. 

Education & Experience:  

  • Bachelor’s Degree required; 
  • 5+ years in Sports Media Talent Sales and Marketing required;  

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:  

  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Office Suite: experience using Excel, PowerPoint or a similar platform is preferred.
  • Must have the ability to manage multiple projects, prioritize effectively and exercise flexibility as needed.
  • Must have proven marketing and sales track record.
  • Must have well-developed interpersonal skills and the ability to relate to a wide variety of audiences, demonstrating strong communication skills.
  • Must be comfortable with engaging in a variety of different communicative modes (verbal, non-verbal, and written) and being attuned to others through strong active listening skills.
  • Results and bottom-line oriented yet will possess sensitivity towards people and values.
  • Must have the ability to demonstrate uncompromised judgment and discretion regarding interpersonal relationships.
  • Must have exceptional time-management skills and be able to execute tasks and responsibilities in a dynamic, every changing environment.
  • Must be a flexible and reliable team player.
  • Must be creative, strategic, detail- oriented, highly organized with strong project management skills.
  • Must provide superior customer service and always seek to improve the client experience.
  • Must be able to think creatively and innovatively. 

The pay range for this position is: $90,000- $110,000 per year. This position is also eligible for benefits and discretionary bonus.

Please note that the foregoing compensation information is a good-faith assessment associated with this position only and is provided pursuant to the California and New York City Salary Transparency Law. 

Ultimately, the salary may vary based upon, but not limited to, relevant experience, time in role, business sector, and geographic location, among other criteria.
