Overview
The Manager, Strategy will play a key role in shaping and executing Mastercard's strategic agenda across Asia Pacific, Europe, Middle East & Africa (APEMEA). As part of the APEMEA President's Office - Strategy, Excellence & Operations (SEO) team, this role partners closely with Business Units, Functional Leaders, and Regional Management to identify, assess, and implement initiatives that strengthen Mastercard's competitive positioning and drive business impact.
The successful candidate will lead end-to-end workstreams - from problem definition and analysis to solution design, senior alignment, and execution - collaborating across markets and functions to deliver measurable outcomes. The role provides broad exposure to Mastercard's senior leadership and a unique opportunity to influence the company's priorities across more than 80 markets.
This role reports to the Vice President, Strategy, APEMEA.
Role
Support the development and execution of APEMEA's strategic framework in alignment with Mastercard's global priorities
Lead strategic projects and workstreams focused on growth acceleration, innovation, and operational excellence
Structure complex, ambiguous challenges into clear hypotheses, actionable plans, and measurable outcomes
Conduct quantitative and qualitative analyses to generate insights and data-driven recommendations
Develop compelling, executive-ready materials that clearly communicate findings and influence decision-making
Partner with cross-functional teams (e.g., Product, Services, Market Development, Finance) and regional business units to translate strategy into execution
Build trusted relationships across APEMEA functions and markets to drive alignment and collaboration
Contribute to a high-performing team culture that emphasizes strategic excellence, innovation, and continuous improvement
All About You
Bachelor's degree from a leading academic institution; an MBA or advanced degree is preferred
5+ years of experience in top-tier management consulting and/or corporate strategy roles
Proven ability to deliver high-impact strategic projects and drive tangible business results
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate complex information into actionable insights
Exceptional communication and presentation skills, with experience crafting concise, logical narratives for senior audiences
Strong interpersonal skills with a collaborative, inclusive approach to teamwork
Self-starter who demonstrates curiosity, initiative, and resilience in a fast-paced, evolving environment
Embodies the Mastercard Way - acting with decisiveness, partnership, and thoughtful risk-taking
Fluency in English required; additional languages are an asset
