Overview:

The Manager of Supply Chain Innovation (NYC) is responsible for driving strategic sourcing, supplier partnerships, commercialization, and supply chain innovation across Impact Kitchen's New York market. This role ensures new products, ingredients, and packaging solutions are successfully sourced and operationalized while supporting profitability, quality, and Impact Kitchen's Food Philosophy.

A key focus of this role is building a resilient, values-driven supply chain by cultivating relationships with local producers, regenerative farms, and mission-aligned suppliers that advance Impact Kitchen's commitment to food quality, sustainability, and community. This role is also responsible for negotiating best-in-class food costs and commercial agreements that protect margins while maintaining uncompromising standards for ingredient quality and supplier partnership.

Working alongside the Manager of Supply Chain Innovation (Toronto), this role owns the New York market while collaborating on enterprise supplier strategies, systems, processes, and innovation initiatives across both markets.
Compensation:
Total annual earnings, including base salary and any applicable incentive compensation, are expected to range from $80,000–$120,000, depending on qualifications, experience, and overall fit for the role.

Core Responsibilities:

  • Innovation & Sustainability
    • Develop and execute a sourcing strategy that prioritizes local, seasonal, ethical, and regenerative suppliers wherever commercially and operationally feasible.
    • Build long-term partnerships with regenerative farms, local producers, and mission-aligned suppliers that strengthen Impact Kitchen's commitment to sustainability, transparency, and ingredient quality.
    • Continuously identify innovative ingredients and products that improve nutritional quality, guest experience, and competitive differentiation.
    • Research market trends and emerging suppliers to bring best-in-class food and packaging innovations to Impact Kitchen.
    • Lead the evaluation and commercialization of new ingredients, suppliers, and packaging, ensuring successful operational implementation.
    • Champion environmentally responsible packaging solutions that reduce waste while enhancing the guest experience.
    • Stay informed on evolving sustainability, food safety, and regulatory requirements to ensure sourcing decisions reflect industry best practices.
  • Supply Chain
    • Own the end-to-end supply chain strategy for the New York market.
    • Negotiate best-in-class pricing, contract terms, rebates, and supplier agreements while maintaining Impact Kitchen's uncompromising quality standards.
    • Build strategic supplier partnerships that deliver long-term value through innovation, reliability, service, and continuous improvement.
    • Identify opportunities to leverage purchasing scale, optimize product specifications, and improve food cost performance without compromising quality.
    • Develop contingency sourcing strategies and qualified secondary suppliers to ensure uninterrupted product availability.
    • Monitor commodity markets, inflation, tariffs, and supply chain risks to proactively manage cost pressures and supply continuity.
  • Financial
    • Own food cost performance by identifying opportunities to improve purchasing strategies, supplier negotiations, and product specifications.
    • Lead Actual vs. Theoretical (AvT) reporting and partner with Restaurant Operations to investigate variances and implement corrective actions.
    • Drive continuous food cost improvement through strategic sourcing, vendor negotiations, menu engineering support, and waste reduction initiatives.
    • Partner with Finance to negotiate commercial agreements that strengthen profitability while supporting long-term supplier relationships.

Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience in supply chain, strategic sourcing, procurement, or product commercialization within foodservice, restaurants, grocery, or CPG.
  • Proven success negotiating supplier agreements and food costs while maintaining quality and service.
  • Experience sourcing fresh ingredients, managing supplier relationships, and supporting new product launches.
  • Strong understanding of food cost management, inventory systems, and cross-functional collaboration.
  • Strong negotiation, commercial, and supplier relationship management skills.
  • Passion for food quality, nutrition, sustainability, local sourcing, and regenerative agriculture.
  • Analytical mindset with experience using purchasing, inventory, and financial data to drive decisions.
  • Highly organized with excellent project management and communication skills.
  • Advanced Excel skills; experience with inventory or procurement systems (COGS-Well is an asset).
  • Collaborative, proactive, and solutions-oriented.
  • Balances strategic thinking with hands-on execution.
