About the Role

We’re looking for a driven, detail-oriented accounting professional who loves diving into complex technical topics and transforming data into insights. As our Technical Accounting & Reporting Lead, you’ll own the company’s most technical accounting areas, lead cash forecasting, and help shape how we tell our financial story each month. You’ll be the go-to expert on U.S. GAAP topics, manage our cash forecasting process, and play a critical role in monthly financial reporting and technical accounting compliance. This is a hands-on, high-impact role in a small, collaborative accounting team within a PE-backed software company.

What You’ll Do

  • Lead Technical Accounting & Documentation: Research, interpret, and document technical accounting conclusions under U.S. GAAP, including ASC 985-20, ASC 842, ASC 350, debt, equity, and purchase accounting.
  • Key Balance sheet areas: Own the accounting for accounting for leases, debt, intangibles, goodwill, equity and internally developed software under ASC 985-20. Partnering with product and development teams to ensure accurate project tracking and capitalization. Partner with relevant areas of the business as needed.
  • Cash Forecasting: Build and maintain a bi-monthly cash forecast model for the CFO and senior finance leadership. Use historical trends, business insights, and collaboration with operational teams to project inflows and outflows.
  • Financial Reporting: Coordinate the monthly financial statement package — collecting departmental commentary, finalizing reports, and preparing the cash flow statement.
  • Cash Reconciliation Oversight: Prepare a consolidated summary of all reconciled cash accounts, validating balances and ensuring completeness and accuracy across teams.
  • NetSuite System Leadership: Serve as NetSuite Admin for accounting — user permissions, reviewing change management documentation, and ensuring compliance with ITGC controls.
  • Continuous Improvement: Identify and build scalable processes. Provide solutions backed by authoritative guidance and solid accounting judgment.

What You Bring

  • CPA required; 7–10 years of progressive accounting experience, including a blend of public accounting and industry exposure.
  • Deep knowledge of U.S. GAAP and the ability to interpret and apply guidance to new and complex issues.
  • Experience preparing technical accounting memos, cash flow statements, and/or complex consolidations.
  • Hands-on experience in ERP systems (NetSuite strongly preferred).
  • Exceptional Excel and analytical skills.
  • Strong communicator who thrives in a collaborative, flexible, and fast-moving environment.
  • Naturally curious and comfortable working through ambiguity with sound logic and confidence.
