The Enterprise Services Risk organization is expanding with a focus on attracting innovative, pioneering, collaborative, and highly skilled professionals. As a Risk Manager you will partner with colleagues across product, tech, design, and other risk teams to deliver results that have a direct impact on internal and external customer experience and implement risk solutions to ensure Capital One's continued stability and success. Responsibilities require partnering with a broad set of leaders and stakeholders to identify existing and potential emerging risks in an open, collaborative environment where new ideas and solutions are both welcomed and rewarded.
Technology Risk Managers are experienced and progressive individuals that operate within a highly collaborative team environment to deliver value-added risk management services to our business partners. You will have a high level of exposure across lines of business and have the opportunity to work with Executives to create and implement innovative solutions to identify and mitigate potential risks to the Company. Proficiency in Cyber and Technology risk management program development and management are key to success in this role. The successful candidate will be an experienced risk management professional who understands technology functions and organizations, with strong analytical, planning, strategic thinking, organizational and communication skills.
Responsibilities:
  • Partner with product and tech leaders by leveraging a trusted advisor model to support business initiatives, issue management, process improvement, control testing and related risk assessment activities
  • Develop a deep understanding of business strategies, products, services, and risk profile
  • Implement improvements to reduce errors and make our processes more reliable and sustainable
  • Ensure independent escalation of risk management gaps, issues, and concerns, including emerging risks and regulatory focus areas
  • Consult on Risks across the first line of defense business partners providing advice and guidance as needed
  • Participate in processes criticality assessments and process level assessments
  • Manage multiple tasks independently to meet deadlines
  • Communicate complex ideas concisely and convincingly, adjust communication to the audience and comfortable with presenting to executive leadership.
  • Collaborative, values diverse perspectives and seeks insights from others. Brings energy to the group and rallies them around a common goal.

Basic Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree or Military Experience
  • At least 4 years of experience in Risk Management, Process Management, Project Management, or a combination
  • At least 4 years of experience supporting, partnering, and interacting with internal and external business clients

Preferred Qualifications:
  • At least 5 yrs experience in Risk Management supporting platforms and tech products
  • At least 4 years of experience consulting with senior executives or strategy building
  • At least 5 years of experience supporting, partnering and interacting with internal stakeholders
  • At least 3 years of experience in the Financial Services industry
  • Project Management (PMP) or Program Management (PgMP) certification
  • Risk Certifications (CRISC, CISM, CRCM, CIPP, ABA Risk Mgmt Certification)

The minimum and maximum full-time annual salaries for this role are listed below, by location. Please note that this salary information is solely for candidates hired to perform work within one of these locations, and refers to the amount Capital One is willing to pay at the time of this posting. Salaries for part-time roles will be prorated based upon the agreed upon number of hours to be regularly worked.
McLean, VA: $164,800 - $188,100 for Manager, Cyber Risk & Analysis
Richmond, VA: $149,800 - $171,000 for Manager, Cyber Risk & Analysis
Candidates hired to work in other locations will be subject to the pay range associated with that location, and the actual annualized salary amount offered to any candidate at the time of hire will be reflected solely in the candidate's offer letter.
This role is also eligible to earn performance based incentive compensation, which may include cash bonus(es) and/or long term incentives (LTI). Incentives could be discretionary or non discretionary depending on the plan.
