About the Role:

The Manager, Total Rewards plays a critical role in leading the delivery, review, and governance of compensation programs that support AGF’s total rewards strategy and business objectives. Acting as a trusted advisor to HR Business Partners and key stakeholders, the role provides expert guidance on compensation recommendations and market competitiveness and will be involved with incentive design across a broad range of compensation programs.

This role will include responsibilities across core total rewards activities, including short and long-term incentives, share-based compensation, and executive compensation. The Manager ensures compensation programs are competitive, compliant, and well understood, while continuously improving processes, tools, and analytics to support the attraction, retention, and motivation of talent.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Insights

  • Partner closely with HR Business Partners and business leaders as a trusted subject matter expert in compensation and incentives.

  • Provide strategic, data-driven guidance aligned with the total rewards philosophy and business priorities for compensation programs of assigned business groups.

  • Clearly communicate compensation programs and policies to ensure leaders understand financial, regulatory, and human capital impacts.

Program Management & Analysis

  • Lead the review and delivery of complex compensation programs, forecasting and market benchmarking for assigned business groups, including analysis of market data and development of recommendations.

  • Conduct compensation analysis and modelling to support incentive plan design, including evaluation of plan structures, performance metrics, costing, and employee impacts.

  • Support the development and documentation of compensation programs, policies, and governance frameworks.

  • Identify opportunities to enhance compensation practices and programs, ensuring alignment with market best practices, internal equity, and legislative requirements.

Tools, Systems & Continuous Improvement

  • Support the transformation and ongoing management of compensation related data, processes, and analytics, including within Workday.

  • Lead and/or contribute to Total Rewards projects and operational initiatives as assigned.

  • Build and maintain strong internal and external networks to stay current on compensation related market, industry, and regulatory trends.

What You Bring

Experience & Industry Knowledge

  • University degree in Business Administration or related discipline.

  • Minimum of five years of progressive compensation experience, including experience supporting complex incentive programs; Financial Services industry experience is an asset.

Technical & Analytical Expertise

  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex data, simplify insights, and make sound, evidence‑based recommendations.

  • Advanced Excel expertise, including complex financial and compensation modelling, with experience preparing materials for senior leader audiences.

  • Experience leveraging technology to drive process efficiencies and improvements in data management.

  • Experience with Workday and/or Shareworks is considered an asset.

  • High degree of integrity and professionalism, with demonstrated ability to handle confidential and sensitive information.

  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, with the confidence to influence and advise leaders across the organization.

Compensation:

 

The anticipated compensation range for this role is $120,000 - $160,000 annually, which represents base salary and, where applicable, variable compensation components (e.g., annual bonus, commissions, etc.). Actual compensation will be determined based on many factors such as role location, candidate experience / qualifications, market conditions, and internal equity.
