Job Description

Job Title: Manager, Valuation Control

Locations: New York City (hybrid)

About the Role

You will lead daily valuation and mark-to-market analysis across a wide range of complex financial instruments, partnering with clients to investigate pricing discrepancies, resolve P&L queries, and support accurate fund NAV delivery. You will leverage your expertise in financial markets, data analysis, and valuation methodologies to deliver insightful reporting, strengthen client relationships, and help drive operational excellence across valuation processes.

How You Will Make an Impact 

  • Valuations analysis and control functions, including but not limited to: Conduct daily mark-to-market and pricing analysis for a broad range of products across all asset classes, including cash and derivative instruments, e.g., equities, bonds, mortgages, credit default swaps, interest rate swaps, FX options, etc. 

  • Investigate and analyze pricing/valuation discrepancies 

  • Work with clients to resolve P&L queries, potentially mis-priced assets and/or unsubstantiated prices 

  • Identify and escalate material discrepancies to clients’ valuation committees or equivalent authority 

  • Deliver and support clients’ use of standard and customized valuation reporting 

  • Assist clients in evaluating and assessing pricing sources 

  • Liaise with trade operations and fund accounting colleagues to support timely delivery of fund NAVs 

  • Maintain effective relationships with clients  

  • Train valuations staff in valuation methodology and procedures  

  • Effectively utilize SS&C's proprietary software applications including trade capture, task management, pricing and reporting systems  

  • Help produce management information reporting 

Required Experience:

  • Bachelors degree in finance, mathematics, accounting related discipline  

  • 6+ years’ experience in Valuations or similar field 

  • Basic to intermediate knowledge of financial markets and behavior of financial instruments, including equity, options, fixed income and/or OTC derivatives products. 

  • Proficiency in MS Excel functions and ability to work with large amounts of data. 

  • Strong analytical, organizational, verbal and written communications skills. 

  • Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple tight client deadlines. 

  • Proactive team player, flexible, dependable, professional attitude, ability to deal with senior management

Actual base salary will vary based on several factors, including but not limited to relevant skills, prior experience, education, demonstrated performance, and geographic location.

New York: The expected base salary for the position is between $85,000 USD to $150,000 USD. Other States expected base salary for the position is between $80,000 USD to $130,000 USD.

In addition, employees in this role may be eligible for consideration on an annual basis for a discretionary bonus and/or equity awards, such as restricted stock units or stock options, based upon individual and business performance at the company’s discretion.
