We are looking for a Managing Director, Head of Software Development to join the Development team within the Information Technology (IT) department. They will lead and execute software development initiatives for the firm. They will transform development processes and capabilities for the firm.

Responsibilities are, but not limited to:

  • Regularly deliver features in an agile way, delivering against business outcomes. 
  • Create a culture of continuous improvement championing the use of automation, metrics, and AI to create efficiency and enhance business intelligence.
  • Maturing SDLC processes and controls in the organization.
  • Optimizing production support activities and leveraging Automation/AI when applicable.
  • Manage development escalations and blockers ensuring alignment of solutions with corporate priorities.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory, risk, and financial standards.
  • Ensure projects are compliant with data integrity, enterprise architecture, and security standards and policies.
  • Ability to translate complex technical issues or concepts into business understandable terms.
  • Manage vendor relationships ensuring top talent is allocated to the firm, timelines and quality of deliverables is met.
  • Ability to operate at multiple levels as the situation requires (e.g. hands on problem solving, strategic, etc.).
Qualifications

The ideal candidate must:

  • Have a bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field.
  • Have at least 10 years of experience managing complex projects.
  • Have at least 8 years of direct management of a development team.
  • Have hands-on experience transforming a department.
  • Have PE experience (preferred).
  • Have a development background (required).
  • Be fluent in SQL (required).
  • Possess exceptional operational and strategic thinking.
  • Communicate a compelling vision and practical execution plan.
  • Demonstrate success in execution, from strategy creation to post implementation operations.
  • Have experience in complex, matrixed environments.
  • Possess IT financial skills – experience in building a budget, managing spend, optimizing opex dollars.
  • Possess excellent organizational and problem-solving skills and the ability to work effectively under pressure.
  • Possess exceptional communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills to collaborate across departments and levels.
  • Be a results-oriented leader, comfortable navigating ambiguity, and heavily adaptability to the evolving business landscape.
