Boeing Defense, Space and Security (BDS) is seeking a First Line Manufacturing Manager to support the B-52 Commercial Engine Replacement Program (CERP) Operations team in San Antonio, TX!
Position Responsibilities:
  • Leads by demonstrating and holding all accountable to the Boeing Values and Behaviors
  • Leads, develops and motivates employees
  • Manages employees performing activities within multiple manufacturing disciplines
  • Supports the development and execution of integrated departmental plans, policies and procedures and provides input on departmental business and technical strategies, goals and objectives
  • Acquires resources for department activities, provides technical management of suppliers and leads process improvements
  • Develops and maintains relationships and partnerships with customers, stakeholders, peers, partners and direct reports
  • Provides oversight and approval of technical approaches, products and processes

First Line Leader Assessment: To be considered for this position you will be required to complete an assessment as part of the selection process. Failure to complete the assessment will remove you from consideration.
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
  • Candidates must have at least one year of experience in a leadership role (team leader, temp manager, large scale cross functional project/program management, or formal manager experience) OR completion of the Boeing internal course "Exploring Leadership."
  • 3+ years of experience in aerospace manufacturing
  • 3+ years of experience in lean processes and initiatives
  • 3+ years of experience working within a cross-functional organizational environment
  • Ability to work any shift including weekends and overtime

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
  • Experience in leading large scale / organizational change
  • Boeing Problem Solving Model Experience
  • 3+ years of experience in leadership, leading teams, initiatives and projects to meet business objectives and influence change
  • 3+ years of experience in coaching, guiding and mentoring teams
  • 3+ years of experience in working to lead and develop teams to execute to safety, compliance, quality and cost

Pay is based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.
Summary pay range: $111,350 - $150,650
