Role Overview:

The Market Operations team is responsible for oversight of the outsourced back office and provides industry expertise in handling open issues, contributes to projects, scrutinizes process controls, and manages daily relationships. The role requires a significant amount of time working through open issues with multiple stakeholders.  

Role Responsibilities:

  • Oversight of our two outsourced back-office providers to ensure timely and accurate service that adheres to or exceeds our agreed service level provisions. This includes both formal, recurring checkpoint meetings and informal daily interactions. 
  • Daily review of front office system reconciliations and work with our two outsourced back offices and trading desk to rectify outstanding issues. 
  • Rectify outstanding asset setup issues and corporate actions. 
  • Follow up on trade breaks, overdrafts, and other cash related issues.  
  • Review, identify and enhance process controls. 
  • Work with IT regarding trade data quality, efficiency of processes, electronic trading system connectivity. 
  • Post and approve client cash activity. 
  • Daily and Monthly price valuation. 
  • Monitor account on boarding and transition activities and resolve any related issues. 
  • Participate in weekly service meetings to discuss business activity, open issues and outline steps to resolve any outstanding items. 
  • Review and approve leveraged loan trade details and work with loans team in rectifying any trade related details. 
  • Work with London Market Operations Team in aligning procedures and oversight methodology. 
  • Work independently on ad hoc and project request. 

Experience Required:

  • The qualified candidate will possess a BA/BS in finance or business administration. 
  • Early professional experience in a Fixed Income support role and familiarity with global securities, derivatives, and options markets.  
  • Strong Communication skills - both written and verbal. This role requires a heavy amount of detailed communication with the outsourced back office, investment broker/dealers, front office personnel, Client Service, IT solutions group and team members in London.  
  • Proactive and sees tasks to completion – much of the work is collaborative and requires proactivity, ownership of tasks and satisfactory completion of tasks with minimal oversight.  
  • Organized and strong attention to detail – much of the work requires multiple interactions and the need to communicate and deliver on several detailed tasks and/or projects. To be successful in this role requires an organized person who can track and follow up on multiple open items.  
  • Proven ability to share tasks and work well with a partner in covering group accountabilities. 
  • Comfortable with a fast-paced environment, with a need to close out issues urgently, intra-day, to minimize risks and liabilities to Insight and our clients.

Under New York City pay transparency law we are required to indicate the base salary range for this role of USD 85,000 to 95,000.  Any offer of employment will be made based upon the specific skills and experience of the selected candidate and the base salary offered could be higher or lower than indicated.
