About the Role

We're looking for someone who knows that the best partnerships often start with a great conversation, and that the right story in the right outlet can open doors that no sales deck can.

As our Marketing Events & Communications Manager, you know how to get things done: you can own the logistics of a Tier 1 executive dinner, keep a PR agency on track, and make sure nothing falls through the cracks between a media pitch and a conference booth.

You'll work closely with Clair's B2B Marketing lead to execute partner-facing and prospect-facing events and support day-to-day PR activities. You won't be setting the overall strategy from scratch—you'll be the person who makes sure it actually happens, on time and with strong attention to detail.

This is an ideal role for someone who is organized, proactive, and comfortable switching between event logistics, media coordination, and agency management in the same week.

What You'll DoEvent Strategy & Planning
  • Identify conferences, sponsorship opportunities, events, podcasts, and industry gatherings that align with Clair's go-to-market strategy.

  • Develop an annual and quarterly event calendar focused on driving partner and prospect engagement.

  • Evaluate event ROI and make recommendations on where Clair should invest time and resources.

Event Execution
  • Own end-to-end event planning and logistics, including vendor management, contracts, budgets, registrations, travel coordination, venue selection, and on-site execution.

  • Coordinate executive dinners, customer appreciation events, prospect roundtables, and partner gatherings from start to finish.

  • Lead Clair's operational participation in industry conferences, including HR Tech, Money20/20, Fintech Meetup, and other relevant events.

  • Support New York Tech Week programming and local community-building initiatives.

PR & External Communications

  • Serve as the operational day-to-day liaison with Clair's PR agency—tracking open items, following up on deliverables, and flagging blockers to the Head of B2B Marketing

  • Maintain and update Clair's media list of target journalists, newsletter writers, podcast hosts, and analysts covering fintech, HR tech, payroll, and embedded finance

  • Draft and send media pitches under the direction of the Head of B2B Marketing; coordinate logistics for executive interviews and press calls

  • Prepare briefing documents for executive media appearances, including journalist background research, key talking points, and logistics

  • Monitor media coverage and flag relevant press mentions, competitive coverage, and inbound inquiries

  • Support award nomination submissions—gathering materials, drafting responses, and managing deadlines

  • Coordinate logistics for speaking opportunities and podcast appearances, including scheduling, prep materials, and follow-up

Revenue & Partnership Support

  • Partner closely with Sales, Partnerships, Marketing, and Leadership teams to ensure events and communications efforts generate meaningful business outcomes

  • Help identify target attendees and coordinate outreach efforts before, during, and after events

  • Work with leadership to maximize networking opportunities and strategic introductions

Measurement & Operations

  • Track event performance and maintain reporting on attendance, meetings generated, pipeline influenced, and overall ROI

  • Track PR performance against KPIs including share of voice, tier-one placements, and executive visibility metrics

  • Manage event and PR budgets and ensure programs are delivered efficiently and effectively

  • Continuously improve processes and identify opportunities to scale Clair's events and communications strategy

What We're Looking For

  • 3+ years of experience in event marketing, field marketing, communications, PR, or a hybrid of the above

  • Demonstrated experience executing B2B events, conferences, executive dinners, or partner-facing experiences end-to-end

  • Experience managing or working alongside a PR agency—including briefing, reviewing pitches, tracking coverage, and holding an agency accountable to outcomes

  • Familiarity with media relations basics: media lists, pitch coordination, and press briefing prep

  • Exceptional project management and organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple workstreams simultaneously

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills—comfortable drafting a pitch, a briefing doc, and a run-of-show in the same week

  • Comfortable working cross-functionally with executives, sales teams, partners, vendors and agency contacts

  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced startup environment where priorities evolve quickly

  • Willingness to travel as needed

Bonus Points If You Have

  • Experience in fintech, HR tech, SaaS, payroll, or the future of work space

  • Existing relationships with journalists, analysts, or newsletter writers covering fintech or HR tech

  • Experience supporting conference sponsorships and speaking opportunities

  • Experience managing award submissions and analyst relations

  • Familiarity with CRM, event management, and media monitoring tools

Why This Role Matters

Many of our best partnerships begin with a conversation, and our biggest opportunities begin with a story well told. You'll do both.

Whether it's an executive dinner in Chicago, a placement in Fintech Takes, a Forbes nomination, or a keynote slot at HR Tech—you'll play a key role in ensuring Clair shows up in the right places with the right message. If you're the type of person who already has a spreadsheet for your vacation itinerary, gets excited about bringing people together, and loves seeing a great pitch land—we'd love to meet you.
