The Role:  

The  Instructional Designer is critical to our Learning and Enablement function, and drives the  educational content development to maximize learning  impact. Reporting to the Manager of Sales Learning & Development, you will assess all Sales team eLearning and current curriculum to evaluate if content meets our team’s current and future needs. You’ll lead the charge in designing and developing customized, interactive online training courses that ensure our sales and customer success teams are equipped with content, tools, and training to differentiate and sell Newsela solutions.

You will be a critical member of the team by  building comprehensive and  engaging customer facing  learning content that enables our team maximize their success and deliver results. You’ll be empowering our customer teams  to help enhance how districts and teachers engage students, and provide time-saving approaches that allow educators to design customized learning for different levels of learners. Your work will directly impact our ability to scale Newsela’s reach, bring our products to more educators and students, and enable accessible, engaging learning that empowers students. In addition to helping our sales team achieve pipeline and revenue targets, you will get to work with an enthusiastic, cross-functional team to catapult Newsela’s growth as we scale our national sales organization.


Why We’ll Love You:

You also have 5+ years of design and development experience including work in some or all of the following: educational publishing, sales enablement, adult learning, professional development. Knowledge of adult learning theory and how  programs are constructed for this audience is key. Leverage your ability to identify skill gaps and formulate learning objectives based on interviews with project stakeholders. Ability to work cross-functionally with  marketing, product, customer, operations and various other teams and work with their representative  SMEs (Subject Matter Experts) to deliver best in class learning content.   You are also proficient in elearning tools including Articulate Storyline 360 and Articulate Rise 360. You are continuously seeking to strengthen your knowledge of the K-12 education market, and are always learning more about the breadth and depth of the sector by keeping a pulse on industry and regional trends.
