The Strategic Programs team is excited to add an ambitious and creative Internal Communications & Events Lead to the team. In this role, you'd report directly to the Strategic Programs Manager while working closely with the Head of North America, the People & Operations Director, Business Operations Director, and Center Operations teams to execute on special events and strategic communications across DV and BCG.
For special events, you will work closely with senior leadership to move from concept to completion for a wide range of activities, including but not limited to executing and coordinating events ranging from affiliation meetings to large retreats for all staff and/or leadership, partnering with vendors, managing participation in BCG-wide affiliation programs, and supporting leadership meetings with agenda coordination, minutes, and action follow-up. You'll have the opportunity to travel to exciting destinations to create memorable experiences for our people.
For strategic communications, you will work closely with the Head of North America to design and create a communications strategy for the entire North America region (NAMR). You will coordinate across the Strategic Programs teams, both regionally and globally, to ensure the right messages are being delivered across the appropriate channels. The Lead will play a critical role in strengthening DV's internal culture.
In this role you will:
Execute specialty events and affiliation outside the scope of ordinary operations

  • Manage external vendors as needed for larger events that require outside support to deliver and execute on the detailed logistics of larger events
  • Set and manage the agreed budgets for these events
  • Engage appropriate stakeholders to shape NAMR affiliation initiatives, generate buy-in, and ensure effective local implementation


Support DV's leadership team by facilitating alignment on required content for leadership meetings

  • Communicate agendas in advance and ensure clarity on required content and those responsible for the outputs
  • Take notes including key decisions and action items agreed to, track action items and ensure stakeholders follow up on agreed action items
  • Work with relevant stakeholders to ensure that decisions are appropriately implemented, coordinating working groups as needed for key stakeholder inputs and progress


Support affiliation programs in line with DV global, BCG regional and DV regional needs

  • Coordinate DV alignment to BCG affiliation or engagement programs including ensuring leadership stakeholders are aligned and that local execution is managed as required
  • Understand DV venture affiliation policies and guidelines and be the go-to person for venture teams and Venture Team Specialists on questions around affiliation and swag
  • Work with regional marketing teams to manage all DV branded swag and swag policies for DV ventures as needed


Coordinate NAMR internal communications

  • Collaborate with Global leadership team to align NAMR internal communications with global communications plan
  • Proactively identify topics requiring broad communication; coordinate with appropriate stakeholders to craft messaging and ensure distribution to all staff
  • Drive regular all-staff updates on client successes, office events, etc., in collaboration with appropriate staff in Marketing and Operations, responsible for developing and managing the content process for NAMR communications
  • Support local People & Operations leaders in coordinating and executing a robust agenda of office events such as NAMR wide town halls


You should have:

  • 3-6 years of experience in event management and logistics and/or project management
  • Experience managing and influencing a wide range of executive level / senior stakeholders
  • Experience in writing copy for the purposes of executive communications
  • Experience in synthesizing actions and next steps for executive meetings
  • Open, positive, and collaborative working style, capable of working across multiple stakeholders with competing priorities and building relationships with speed


Additional desired competencies:

  • Ability to work independently and drive initiatives forward with limited guidance
  • Experience working with senior leaders in a dynamic stakeholder environment
  • Creative problem solving skills, apt at identifying a path forward in ambiguous situations and directing others towards a shared outcome
  • To be an outstanding, confident communicator. Articulate and capable of developing content and communications on behalf of executives
  • Good judgment, strong interpersonal skills, and a collaborative style
  • Ability to perform effectively under pressure
  • Strong organizational and process management skills. Comfortable with multitasking and prioritizing within a fast-paced, demanding environment
  • A background in project management and/or project management certifications preferred but not required
  • Experience in the professional services industry is preferred but not required
