About the Role
Reporting to the SVP of Marketing, the Senior Director of Marketing Operations & Strategy will lead a team responsible for delivering and optimizing the processes, technology, and data required for sales and marketing to execute a modern account-based growth strategy for Riskified. This role will serve as the backbone of the marketing team, delivering planning, governance, data and insights to allow all marketing functions to focus on the critical KPIs for the business. This team will focus on enabling end-to-end marketing optimization— from planning and budgeting to execution and analysis. As a member of the marketing leadership team and a key partner to sales leadership, your team will turn data into actionable insights and recommendations to help drive optimization and increased productivity across the GTM organization.
Additionally, this role will serve as the Chief of Staff to the SVP of marketing. Responsibilities will include helping to lead the marketing planning and budgeting process, management of strategic initiatives, and in 2023, the development of a world class marketing enablement program to ensure all Riskified marketers have appropriate career paths and development plans to help them achieve their professional goals
What You'll Be Doing
- Marketing Operations. Design and scale a modern, account-based go-to-market architecture that emphasizes customer acquisition and expansion- either through our direct sales or partner channels. The leader of the marketing operations team will be a direct report to this role.
- Planning & Budgment Management. Orchestrates the annual marketing planning process, ensuring marketing’s goals are aligned with sales, product, and customer engagement/retention objectives. Planning responsibilities span cross-functional goal setting and resource alignment, marketing contribution to pipeline modeling, and budget alignment (ROMI analysis). Coordinates the budget strategy and manages the budget allocation process. As hiring plans align, this will become a sub-team in the broader marketing organization. The leader of this functional team will be a direct report to this role, and lead planning and budgeting for all of marketing, including indirect marketing through our partner channels.
- MarTech infrastructure and Digital web experience. Lead the transition of our digital estate from information-focused to inbound demand and conversion. In partnership with the Business Applications and Revenue Operations teams, create a technology vision and requirements roadmap that supports the pipeline and revenue targets, including partner programs. This includes but is not limited to riskified.com, the MarTech stack, marketing automation platforms, web experience and engagement to support 3rd party data providers, etc. Build a world class digital experience team aligned to inbound demand marketing and our account-based growth strategy.
- Data and Analytics. Lead the data strategy development for marketing. Define the appropriate metrics that track the achievement of performance goals and objectives across the demand gen spectrum including all routes to market (direct and ecosystem partners). This component includes revenue intelligence strategy, dashboard development, and a monthly reporting cadence. As headcount allows, build and lead a world class marketing analytics team. The leader of this team will be a direct report to this role.
- Chief of Staff. Serve as an insights-driven consultant to the SVP, Marketing, facilitating the establishment of marketing strategy and ensuring alignment of business objectives with operational budgets. Deliver effective change management and communications for technology implementation, data policy, and process reengineering within marketing. In 2023, scale marketing Leadership and Development initiatives including marketing enablement and eventually a full scale marketing boot camp.
Qualifications
- Bachelor of Arts or Science or equivalent required; MBA preferred
- 10 to 15 years of marketing leadership experience, ideally in an operations or data insights role
- Experience serving, collaborating with and influencing executive management
- An understanding of sales cycles and product life cycles and their respective pressures on the marketing organization to drive demand and revenue
- Insights driven marketing strategy, planning, budget allocation and organizational alignment experience.
- Marketing measurement analysis and delivery, including global markets, if applicable, and using data from MAP, SFA, web analytics and finance systems
- Experience in sales, IT, Finance or Revenue Operations is desirable but not required.
- Demand Generation and Field Marketing experience is a plus
