JOB SUMMARY

The Measurement Analyst role is responsible for ensuring the integrity, accuracy, and reliability of system‑level measurement data. This position applies strong analytical judgment and business acumen to support effective measurement processes, financial accuracy, and operational decision‑making. Hybrid schedule working Monday, Tuesday, Thursday in the Bridgeport office, working from home on Wednesday and Friday. Must live in the Bridgeport surrounding area.

Measurement Analysts are expected to think beyond individual issues, recognize broader impacts, and contribute to process enhancements that strengthen measurement performance across the organization. Analyze, verify, and reconcile physical gas measurement balances, providing guidance related to gas measurement processes and equipment.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities

  • Maintain balance systems. Collaborate with necessary parties to develop and maintain gas flow and/or gas accounting diagrams detailing gas flows and inputs/outputs of all measurement points. Verify line balances related to gas accounting diagrams to ensure balances and diagrams are complete. Review test reports from the field to ensure system balances are maintained to represent the actual gas flows in the field

  • Coordinate with field and downstream (accounting) personnel to resolve line balance problems and determine where lost and unaccounted for gas is occurring

  • Communicate information to necessary customers through the use of system reports, custom reports, and SharePoint. Develop, maintain, and distribute reports for lost and unaccounted for gas and fuel across all systems

  • Collaborate with accounting and other appropriate personnel to reconcile measurement system data to accounting system

  • Analyze trends and evaluate statistics to compile recommendations for measurement system process improvements

  • Compile and prepare lists of meters and/or measurement devices with errors and submit information to appropriate personnel; follow up to ensure problem has been resolved

  • Develop and conduct third-party audits of measurement data and related processes

  • Review and import gas analysis information into the measurement system. Coordinate with labs and field personnel to ensure all data is received in a timely manner

  • Provide leadership, direction, and training for each step in the gas measurement processes, from the filed device through the gas balancing tasks

  • Build relationships and communicate information regarding measurement functions

  • Regular and reliable attendance is required in performance of job

Education

  • Bachelor's Degree in accounting, math, other related field with previous job-related experience or equivalent experience that includes application of math, algebra, statistical, and volumetric formulas; understanding of generally accepted accounting processes; and good communications skills PLUS the following job-related experience

Work Experience

  • Experience with a gas measurement application and familiarity with reporting capabilities

  • Experience monitoring and analyzing gas measurement reports and recommending changes to maximize efficiency and accuracy

  • Experience using word processing, spreadsheet, and communication applications such as Word, Excel, Outlook, and SharePoint programs for reporting and analysis

  • Experience and/or training related to:

    • Gas measurement methods and standards

    • Electronic measurement data handling applications

    • Chart integration processes

    • Understanding gas flow for gathering and processing and transmission system receipts and deliveries

    • Understanding field measurement processes

  • Experience reading and interpreting reports, budgets, governmental regulations, trade journals, manuals, and correspondence

  • Experience compiling and preparing various types of measurement reports pertaining to gas balances, system performance, etc

  • Experience interacting, advising, and communicating effectively

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Knowledge of: plant processing and extraction facilities and physical properties of natural gas

  • Ability to: apply math and algebraic formulas used in spreadsheet applications

  • Ability to: communicate and exchange verbal information and instructions
