INOVA Federal Credit Union is seeking a motivated, self-driven External Mortgage Loan Officer to develop new mortgage business throughout our communities. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced mortgage professional who enjoys networking, building relationships, and generating their own business while helping individuals and families achieve their homeownership goals.

As a Mortgage Loan Officer, you will be responsible for sourcing your own leads through community outreach, referral partnerships, networking events, and relationship-building activities. This is a newly created position at INOVA, offering the opportunity to help shape and grow our mortgage presence in the markets we serve.

What You'll Do

  • Develop and maintain relationships with real estate professionals, builders, community organizations, and referral partners.
  • Generate mortgage loan opportunities through networking and community involvement.
  • Meet with prospective borrowers to discuss mortgage products and financing options.
  • Complete mortgage loan applications and guide members through the lending process.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor throughout the home financing journey.
  • Maintain knowledge of mortgage products, industry trends, and regulatory requirements.
  • Represent INOVA Federal Credit Union professionally within the community.

What We're Looking For

  • Previous mortgage lending or mortgage sales experience preferred.
  • Proven ability to develop business through networking and relationship building.
  • Strong communication, sales, and customer service skills.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently.
  • Knowledge of mortgage products, underwriting guidelines, and lending regulations.
  • Ability to establish and maintain strong referral relationships.

This role requires the following related education or equivalent combination of experience and training.

  • 2 Years related experience
  • No major required
  • High school diploma

Certificates/Licenses

  • NMLS License
