Morgan Stanley Growth & Innovation (“MSGI”) is an MSIM strategy targeting late-stage, growth equity investments in scaled, private, high-growth companies operating in fast-growing technology sectors. MSGI’s inaugural fund, North Haven Growth & Innovation (“NHGIF” or the “Fund”) closed on $1.3 billion of capital commitments in an oversubscribed offering in which Morgan Stanley, its affiliates, and employees collectively committed 24% of the Fund’s capital. MSGI sits under the broader Private Credit & Equity (PC&E) platform with over 300 professionals globally managing approximately $62Bn of client capital across direct private equity and private-credit strategies.

Since launch, the Fund has already invested in Databricks, Anduril and Ramp, among others. MSGI targets category-defining companies operating in large addressable markets with significant long-term compounding potential. The Fund seeks to leverage the Integrated Firm, bringing together capabilities across Morgan Stanley's Investment Management, Institutional Securities and Wealth Management divisions, and drawing on the breadth of the Firm's relationships across the private growth ecosystem.

This is a unique opportunity to join a lean and entrepreneurial investment team at an inflection point for the platform, helping deploy capital into category-defining private technology companies while contributing to the continued buildout of a differentiated growth equity fund within Morgan Stanley Investment Management.

MSIM is looking for an Associate/Vice President to work directly with senior investors and decision-makers and serve as a key contributor throughout the lifecycle of investing, including the evaluation of investment opportunities, conducting in-depth sector analysis, developing and analyzing financial projections and valuations, and monitoring portfolio companies post investment.

  • Build financial models for company projections and transaction scenarios
  • Produce investment memoranda and support materials on investment opportunities
  • Coordinate with advisors and consultants on due diligence items
  • Monitor the performance of portfolio companies and interface with management teams

Qualifications:

  • Experience: technology coverage or technology experience preferred
  • Ability to work independently and take initiative
  • Ability to learn quickly and interact well with others, including with counterparts across the Firm in Wealth Management and Investment Banking & Capital Markets
  • Enthusiasm, self-motivation, and a team player attitude
  • Superior level of attention to detail
  • Outstanding verbal and written communication skills
  • Highly developed interpersonal skills
  • Ability to handle multiple assignments at once and meet associated deadlines important to success
