SWS is seeking a motivated Municipal Securities Operations Generalist to support both syndicate and settlement operations within our municipal securities platform working in-office from its NYC headquarters on Wall Street. This role is well-suited for someone who is attentive to detail and wants broad exposure across the municipal trade lifecycle. The ideal candidate demonstrates a strong aptitude for learning quickly, robust analytical skills with data, and a genuine enthusiasm for fixed income markets. They will have 2+ years of relevant municipal / fixed income securities experience. This position requires a strong proficiency in technology and the ability to work confidently with various technological tools.

Responsibilities:

• Assist with all syndicate operations, including deal setup, allocations, close-outs, DTC eligibility and closing; MSRB EMMA Senior Managed deal submissions; all Co-Managed deal processing for commissions and revenue to the firm

• Work closely with investment banking teams for both Senior and Co-Managed Negotiated business

• Support municipal bond trade settlement and post-trade processing

• Coordinate with sales, trading, clearing firms, and client custodians

• Monitor trade breaks, confirmations, and settlement status

• Maintain accurate trade and account records

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree preferred (Business, Finance, Economics, or related field)

• Prior municipal operations experience highly preferred but not required

• Strong Excel skills and general computer proficiency

• Strong communication, problem-solving skills

• Detail-oriented, organized, and demonstrate ability to manage multiple workflows in a deadline-driven environment

• Series 99, 52 and 7 are highly preferred or must be obtained within 60 days of date of hire

We are Committed to Fair Pay. At SWS, we are committed to fair, transparent pay and strive to provide competitive, market-informed compensation. The target fixed compensation range for this position is $75,000 - $95,000. Compensation for the successful candidate will be determined by the candidate’s particular combination of knowledge, skills, competencies and experience. This position is also eligible for a discretionary bonus.
