About the role
As a Database Administrator I at Daxko, you'll own the health and performance of the databases that power our products and the organizations we serve. You'll partner closely with Engineering, QA, and Technical Services teams to keep our systems running reliably, support great releases, and grow your DBA skills across a diverse set of technologies. This is a hands-on role with real ownership from day one.
What you'll do
- Own DBA responsibilities for assigned Daxko product lines, including schema design, user and permission management, and database object maintenance
- Monitor, troubleshoot, and tune database performance across production and development environments
- Manage backup, recovery, and failover clustering setups to keep systems available and resilient
- Partner with Engineering and QA teams on performance reviews for releases and schema changes
- Support Technical Services on customer-impacting database issues, moving quickly and communicating clearly
- Help teams import and export data across multiple database platforms
- Participate in the on-call rotation and respond to production incidents as needed
What you'll bring
- 2+ years of hands-on experience with MySQL, AWS Aurora, or SQL Server (or a combination)
- Proficiency with at least 2 cloud database technologies
- Ability to read and analyze query execution plans to diagnose and resolve performance issues
- Comfort working independently across multiple priorities with strong attention to detail
- Clear written and verbal communication skills, especially when working across technical and non-technical teams
- Availability for some nights and weekends as part of an on-call rotation
Nice to have
- 4+ years of experience with MySQL, AWS Aurora, and/or SQL Server
- Experience supporting multiple products or database platforms simultaneously
- Familiarity with AI tools relevant to database administration
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience)

Where you fall within the compensation range is based on how you demonstrate the skills and competencies needed for the role. We typically reserve the upper half of our compensation bands for team members who have grown within Daxko. In addition to base salary, some roles may be eligible for bonuses, commissions, or other performance-based incentives. We also offer a comprehensive benefits package, recognition programs, and plenty of opportunities to grow your career with us.
The pay range for this role is $85,000 – $125,000 per year.
