Position Summary
Our client is seeking a National Sales Manager to lead the Target and Ulta businesses across North America. Reporting to senior sales leadership, this role will be responsible for developing and executing strategic account plans, driving revenue growth, and strengthening retailer partnerships with two of the brand's most important retail partners. The ideal candidate is both strategic and highly execution-oriented, with an entrepreneurial mindset and a proven track record of growing prestige beauty brands within Target and Ulta. This individual will collaborate cross-functionally with Marketing, Demand Planning, Supply Chain, Finance, and Field Sales & Education to deliver exceptional retail execution while identifying new opportunities to accelerate growth.
Responsibilities
- Own the commercial strategy and day-to-day management of the Target and Ulta businesses.
- Develop annual business plans, sales forecasts, and growth strategies to achieve revenue and profitability goals.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key retailer buyers and cross-functional partners.
- Identify opportunities to expand distribution, optimize assortments, and increase promotional effectiveness.
- Lead all retailer line reviews, assortment presentations, and annual business planning meetings.
- Partner with Marketing to execute impactful product launches, promotional calendars, and retailer-exclusive initiatives.
- Collaborate with Field Sales & Education to ensure best-in-class in-store execution, merchandising, and sell-through performance.
- Analyze sales trends, inventory levels, promotional performance, and competitive activity to identify growth opportunities and mitigate risks.
- Work closely with Demand Planning and Supply Chain to support forecasting accuracy and inventory management.
- Manage retailer P&Ls, trade investment, and promotional spend to maximize profitability.
- Partner cross-functionally with Finance, Operations, Marketing, and Product Development to execute key business initiatives.
- Deliver regular business updates, sales reporting, and recommendations to executive leadership.
Qualifications
- 5-8+ years of National Account Management or Sales experience within the beauty, personal care, or consumer packaged goods industry.
- Proven experience managing both the Target and Ulta businesses is required.
- Strong understanding of retailer planning processes, merchandising, promotional strategy, and category management.
- Demonstrated success growing strategic retail accounts and exceeding sales objectives.
- Highly analytical with experience leveraging sales data and business insights to drive decisions.
- Entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-growth organization.
- Excellent negotiation, communication, and presentation skills.
- Strong cross-functional leadership skills with the ability to influence internal and external stakeholders.
- Highly organized with exceptional project management and execution capabilities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and retailer reporting platforms.
- Bachelor's degree required.
- Must be based in the New York City area or open to relocating to NYC.
- Willingness to travel as business needs require.

The salary range for this role is $120-140K bonus annually based on experience.
