The Network Automation Operations Engineer will be timely in evaluating and attempting to resolve technical issues that arise on the network and escalate when appropriate. Responsibilities will include assisting the Network and Security Engineering team in implementing and operating various projects and controls for the league-wide cybersecurity program and MLB streaming infrastructure.
Responsibilities
- Build and maintain Infrastructure as Code Network Automation environment
- Build automated workflow and tooling to improve day to day operational toil
- Act as an escalation point for the wider Network Security Operations Team and NOC
- Document various operational playbooks to assist in support, troubleshooting, and maintaining the Network Security Infrastructure
- Configure and maintain firewalls: security policies, VPN, IPSec tunnels etc.
- Participate in 24x7 on-call rotation
Qualifications & Skills
5+ years professional experience in:
- Supporting and maintaining enterprise level network and security infrastructure.
- Advanced knowledge of networking concepts, including topology, IP networking, protocols, components, and principles. (e.g., L2 switching protocols, L3 routing protocols, BGP)
- Network Automation/Scripting (Python, Bash, Go or other scripting language), Jinja2, Ansible
- Solid knowledge with navigating and integrating APIs
- Experience with Netbox, Docker, Linux
- Strong Problem solving and technical troubleshooting skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Desire to be challenged, learn, and continually improve
- CCNP certification a plus
- Portfolio of automation projects and scripts
Salary Range: $100,000 - $125,000 (Base Salary + Bonus)
