Network Security Engineer - 6 Month Contract

About the Job 

We are seeking an experienced Network Security Engineer to support the design, implementation, documentation, and communication of network security solutions. This role requires strong technical expertise combined with excellent verbal and written communication skills, as the engineer will work directly with clients, respond to technical inquiries, and produce clear, high-quality documentation. This is a 6 month contract role with room to extend based on performance and project needs. It will require a hybrid work model with 3 days a week onsite and 2 days remote.

What You’ll Get to Do  

• Act as a technical security resource, confidently explaining network security concepts and solutions to clients and stakeholders

• Respond to and clarify technical questions posed by clients in a clear and professional manner

• Create, maintain, and update detailed technical documentation related to network security configurations and processes

• Design, implement, and support network security controls and best practices

• Monitor, analyze, and enhance network security posture across environments

• Collaborate with internal teams and client stakeholders to ensure secure and compliant network operations

What You’ll Bring with You  

• Hands-on experience with:

  • Intrusion Detection and Prevention Systems (IDS/IPS)

  • Firewalls (configuration, management, and troubleshooting)

  • Network segmentation

  • Web filtering technologies

  • Cisco network access and security solutions

• Strong understanding of network security architecture and best practices

• Experience with system hardening and endpoint security controls, including Antivirus and Antimalware solutions

• Excellent verbal communication skills with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts to technical and non-technical audiences

• Strong written communication skills, with proven experience creating clear, concise technical documentation

• Prior experience in a client-facing or consulting environment preferred

• Familiarity with security frameworks and compliance standards

• Ability to work independently while managing multiple priorities
