The Position: As a Network Solutions Engineer at Lightyear you will play a critical role in growing Lightyear’s revenue by helping customers solve network engineering problems. You will review technical aspects of Lightyear customer network service orders, assist customers in designing telecom solutions, and ensure an optimal network procurement and implementation experience. The ideal candidate for this role will have a demonstrated passion for network engineering and / or telecom solutions engineering.
 

This role will come with a highly-competitive compensation package that will be customized for the candidate’s experience, preferences, and goals.  The total compensation range for this position is estimated to be between $110-125k plus equity.
 

Key Responsibilities

  • Technical Design & Implementation: Assist with the design and implementation of customer networks, ensuring scalability, security, and efficiency across solutions spanning Internet / WAN connectivity, Voice, and Colocation.
  • System Optimization: Analyze and improve existing Lightyear platform process and services for the ideal customer experience. 
  • Collaboration: Work with Sales, Implementation Specialists, and other internal stakeholders to align technical designs with business needs.
  • Compliance & Standards: Ensure all designs and implementations adhere to industry standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Innovation & Research: Stay up-to-date with emerging technologies and industry trends to drive innovation.
     

Ideal Qualifications
 

  • 4+ years of technical or engineering experience in telecom, networking, voice, data center, and / or adjacent technical solutions
  • Proficiency in network architecture and design, fiber optics, wireless technologies, optical wavelengths, SD-WAN, and other adjacent telecom solutions
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues
  • Deep understanding of carrier network operations and processes with hands-on experience around configuration, testing, turn-up, and deployment
  • Excellent communication skills to convey technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Industry-relevant certifications are a bonus
