Physician Affiliate Group of New York (PAGNY) is adding a Neurologist to the group at NYC Health + Hospitals/South Brooklyn Health.  South Brooklyn Health is a redesigned health care campus featuring the new 11-floor Ruth Bader Ginsburg Hospital which provides emergency care, modern labor and delivery suites, and state-of-the-art surgical services. The new Health & Wellness Institute offers outpatient services—from primary and preventive care to specialty services for children and adults—all designed to keep our community healthy. 

South Brooklyn Health is a Joint Commission and American Heart Association/American Stroke Association designated Advanced Primary Stroke Center. 

The hospital maintains a strong academic affiliation with SUNY Downstate Health Sciences University and NYIT College of Osteopathic Medicine to maintain its high standards of healthcare delivery.

Opportunity Details:

  • Deliver comprehensive patient care through outpatient clinics, inpatient services, and emergency department consultations, with a strong focus on stroke care.
  • Supervise and support resident clinics to ensure high-quality clinical training and patient outcomes.
  • Participate in the assigned on-call schedule to support continuous patient care.
  • Provide clinical leadership and guidance to multidisciplinary healthcare team members.
  • Mentor and educate residents and medical students in a collaborative academic environment.
Qualifications
  • Active, Unrestricted NYS License 
  • Board Eligible or Board Certified in Neurology 
  • Fellowship Training and board eligibility or certification in Stroke or Neuromuscular Medicine preferred (not required) 
  • Active DEA license
  • Experience attending to an under-served population preferred

Wages and Benefits include:

Annual Base Salary: $267,000* (Board Eligible) $272,000* (Board Certified) based on 40-hour work week. 

The annual total value of the compensation package is $389,220** (Board Eligible) and $394,720** (Board Certified)  which includes the baseline salary, 401(k) contribution, sessional/per diem hours, and other factors as set forth below:

  • Estimated annual compensation for 10 additional sessional/per diem hours worked per week is $55,520.
  • Projected bonus of up to $40,000 (based on previous year’s average), contingent upon meeting quality and productivity targets.
  • 401(k) Company Contribution (subject to IRS contribution limits):
    • Employees are immediately vested in a 3% company contribution of base earnings. No employee match is required.
    • After one year of service, employees receive an additional 7% company contribution of base earnings. No employee match is required.
  • Annual Continuing Medical Education (CME) Reimbursement.
  • Generous Annual Paid Time Off (PTO): Vacation, Sick, Holiday, and CME days.
  • Medical, Prescription, and Dental Coverage: Top-tier plans with employee contributions significantly below market rates.
  • Life Insurance and Accidental Death and Dismemberment (AD&D) Coverage: Equal to 2x your salary (up to a maximum of $300,000) provided at no cost to you.
    • Additional employee-paid Voluntary Life and AD&D coverage is available for you and your family.
  • Loan Forgiveness: Position may be eligible for loan forgiveness through certain state or federal programs.
  • Medical Malpractice Coverage (equivalent to occurrence-based): Provided at no cost to the employee.
  • Healthcare and Dependent Care Flexible Spending Accounts (FSAs).
  • Pre-tax employee-paid contributions for commuting expenses. 
  • Visa sponsorship will be considered for this position
  • This position is eligible for the High Needs Specialty Loan Repayment Program (HNSLRP) for physicians meeting eligibility criteria.
