Job DescriptionWorking with us
While applicants for this role can still be developing their technical knowledge, strong writing abilities and industry awareness are critical to success. As a news analyst, you will conduct research on breaking news related to M&A transactions and/or financial markets. You will need to stay engaged with various news sources throughout the day and be able to read and interpret press releases, annual reports, and corporate filings from relevant companies.
You will then be responsible for conveying this information in a clear, concise, and grammatically correct format. This content will be distributed across our website and various social media accounts, delivering information to thousands of readers and driving engagement on our platforms.
In this position, you will be able to develop your understanding of financial markets and transactions, while honing your writing and analytical skills. Analysts will also have the opportunity for greater involvement in our business support functions, and as their technical knowledge improves they will be the first in line for positions on our research teams. You will have full access to Focus Finance, networking and developing connections within our organization of the brightest students from universities around the globe.

Your key responsibilities
Staying engaged with relevant news sources throughout the week (WSJ, Reuters, Seeking Alpha, etc.)
Reading the relevant portions of financial filings related stories you’re covering
Writing clear, concise news stories at least twice a week
Write concise news alerts in an Instagram Stories format at least twice a week
Engaging in the development and improvement of our News Division

Undergraduate student specializing in finance, management, economics, engineering, computer science or similar (we welcome applications from all universities across the globe)
Accentuated interest in finance, capital markets and banking, as well as digital marketing and social media
Commercial and business awareness in the financial services industry
Attention to details and highly organized
Core soft skills – teamwork, adaptability, resilience, international mindset
Problem solver, data-savvy, quick learner
