Job Responsibilities:
Specific Job Duties:
- Works to ensure that Norplas is compliant with Federal and State EPA regulations (air, land and water)
- Provides chemical information expertise for the facility while also managing SDS and GHS systems
- File EPA permit applications, manages interactions with the EPA.
- Maintains operating records in accordance with Norplas' EPA permits; Stays current with EPA regulations
- Maintains calculations and records for monthly, quarterly, semiannual, and yearly emissions of paint line and assembly process
- Conduct environmental audits and inspections on an on-going basis
- Test, characterize, handle hazardous wastes, and be responsible for managing waste
- Reviews and manage Management of Change process
- Provide and conduct need environmental training the team leaders and team members
- Maintain the ISO 14000 certification
- Travel to other sites (80-mile radius) for environmental training or assisting other sites (0-10% of the time)
- Other tasks as needed, related to environmental, health, and safety
- Work on safety projects as needed
Related Work Experience
- 2-5 years of experience in environmental engineering, environmental compliance, or sustainability roles.
- Experience with environmental management systems (e.g., ISO 14001).
- Familiarity with federal, state, and local environmental regulations (e.g., EPA, OSHA).
- Background in manufacturing, industrial, or construction environments is a plus.
Educational Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Environmental Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or a related field.
- Certifications such as Certified Hazardous Materials Manager (CHMM) or Certified Environmental Engineer (CEE) are advantageous but not required.
