The Institutional Consulting Solutions business drives the product management, sale and service of Advisor-led workplace offerings for corporate clients, non-profits, endowments, foundations and governments entities across market segments. Products include Retirement and Corporate Cash Management sold by both core Advisors as well as specialized channels such as Graystone Consulting or our Morgan Stanley Institutional Investment Advisors.  Our products and services are designed to reduce financial stress and empower all companies and organizations and their constituents to plan, prepare for, and reach their financial goals through digital and human engagement. 

Position Summary:

The Outsourced Chief Investment Office (OCIO) is responsible for delivering customized investment management services to institutional and ultra-high net worth clients. The OCIO Business Development team works directly with our OCIO portfolio managers and Morgan Stanley Financial Advisors/Consultants to drive assets under management (AUM) growth.

We are seeking a Vice President to join our OCIO Business Development team, with a focus on the Nonprofit client segment. This role is central to driving new business growth, managing the full sales lifecycle, and building strong relationships with institutional clients as well as Morgan Stanley Financial Advisors and Consultants.

The Vice President will serve as the primary Business Development coverage for the Nonprofit client segment and will support end-to-end prospecting activities, including managing the Request for Proposal (RFP) process. The successful candidate will be expected to build strong, collaborative working relationships with the Nonprofit Client Segment Head, Portfolio Managers, Financial Advisors/Consultants, and internal Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to help win, expand, and retain client relationships.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead end-to-end business development efforts for Nonprofit clients
  • Develop and execute strategies to grow institutional assets
  • Build and maintain relationships with Financial Advisors/Consultants, and key stakeholders to support all aspects of institutional sales for the Nonprofit business  
  • Drive and manage the Request for Proposal (RFP) processes
  • Maintain a library of content for Nonprofit responses
  • Assist with preparing and organizing marketing materials for various meetings and events
  • Participate in various prospect meetings and industry events where appropriate – stay current on economic and market developments
  • Ensure OCIO nonprofit pipeline is well maintained and up to date

Qualifications:

  • Proven ability to manage complex sales cycles and multiple senior stakeholders
  • Strong relationship-building and client-facing skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities
  • Result-oriented and passionate about contributing to the firm’s growth with a desire to succeed
  • Strong decision making, analytical evaluation, risk management, and effective problem-solving skills
  • Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deliverables simultaneously  
  • Experience working with Endowments & Foundations / knowledge of the Nonprofit landscape
  • Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • FINRA Series 7 and 66 is a plus (candidate will be expected to obtain these licenses within 180 days of hire date)
  • Candidate must have 10+ years of experience

Expected base pay rates for the role will be between $110,000 and $190,000 per year at the commencement of employment. However, base pay if hired will be determined on an individualized basis and is only part of the total compensation package, which, depending on the position, may also include commission earnings, incentive compensation, discretionary bonuses, other short and long-term incentive packages, and other Morgan Stanley sponsored benefit programs.
