The Middle Office Team at IMC is seeking an Operations Analyst. In this dynamic role, you'll support trade reconciliation and settlement accuracy, help resolve discrepancies, and ensure seamless trade flow across platforms in collaboration with trading and IT teams. As a member of the Middle Office team, you'll build strong foundational knowledge and develop into a go-to resource, learning from senior analysts and contributing to a high standard of operational excellence. Your Core Responsibilities:
- Perform intraday and next-day trade reconciliation, ensuring accuracy and timeliness across all activity
- Calculate and reconcile daily P&L; reconcile monthly invoices with exchanges, clearing firms, and other counterparties
- Identify and resolve daily trade and settlement breaks; conduct analysis to determine root causes and drive timely corrections at the clearing firm level
- Understand the trade lifecycle, from execution through final settlement, including all associated fees
- Work with IT and Trading to ensure proper trade flow, including onboarding new exchanges, clearing firms, and trading platforms
- Liaise between clearing firms and trading operations; open new accounts and execute position, trade, and cash transfers
- Monitor high-level account balances and margin/collateral requirements in conjunction with the Risk team
- Manage and analyze large datasets; create ad hoc and recurring reports to support operational and business needs
- Maintain an automation mindset, proactively identifying opportunities for improvement and efficiency
- Collaborate in cross-functional teams to develop solutions across departments and improve quality and efficiency within support
- Interact daily with other support areas, and build an understanding of key risk, compliance, finance, and legal topics
- Quickly learn new tools, procedures, and structures, and continually look for ways to improve upon them
Your Skills and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Mathematics, or a related quantitative field (B.S. preferred)
- 2-5 years of experience in financial markets or a trading environment preferred
- Prior interaction with trading and/or technology groups
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and the broader MS Office suite
- Strong analytical and structured problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify root causes
- Adaptable and able to manage multiple priorities while working well under pressure
- Team player with strong communication and stakeholder management skills
- Ability to gather, synthesize, and communicate business requirements clearly
- Self-motivated and proactive, with a continuous improvement mindset
- Strong attention to detail, with solid organizational and prioritization skills
- Series 99 or 7 required, or a willingness to work towards obtaining within first year of employment
- Technical skills in data tools or programming languages is a plus (including but not limited to SQL , VBA, Power Query, Python, or QlikSense)
